((Warrior Sports - Commercial Sector - Beta Module - DS33))

No sooner had T’Fearne stepped aboard than the Ronin had departed, slipping into the void, leaving her behind. She shook off the fleeting sense of longing at not being on the ship at the brink of danger when the trap was sprung. Channelled her intense focus into her mission—Establish a Forward Observation Post and reinforce defences in the Commercial Sector, Module B. The Ronin’s success or failure was not her concern—DS33 would not be caught unawares or undefended, not while both Ronin and the Khitomer joint mission detachment had any say.

Clad in her gold security uniform with a Type 3b Phaser Rifle slung across her torso, a Type 2 personal phaser holstered at her thigh. Extra power packs and emergency supplies in a pack on her back. Prepared as she could be for her first Starfleet hostile engagement. A recent conversation with Senior Chief Solana had inspired her to retrieve her old akai stick from storage, which now clipped snuggly to her belt. It was more for luck than utility, a talisman of familiar comfort in these perilous times.

She was in the final stages of transforming Warrior Sports into an FOP, finishing the barricades and configuring the consoles for seamless connection to the command centre. While she tightened a loose connection, the commanding presence of the Al-Leyan filled the room.

Raga: Ensign, how are things coming with the fortifications at the docking ports?

T’Fearne: We’re making adequate progress, sir. The makeshift barricades are mostly in place, and we’re setting up additional shielding to reinforce the docking ports. We’ve also established checkpoints to monitor and control access points. We don’t want anyone on the station inadvertently wandering into a hazardous or rigged area.

Raga: Good, we’ve got a lot of ground to cover and fortify. Focus on the docking areas but be sure we can easily clear the way for an evacuation as needed.

She nodded, her fingers dancing over the console to map out and catalogue essential points for rapid clearance if evacuation became necessary. Glancing over as Lt. Osiris approached and appreciatively noted his weaponry. If any invasion came to pass, having someone covering the security forces working in the area was reassuring.

Osiris: Security sweeps are underway, sir. If there’s any holes in our defenses they will be sealed. And the additional visual and biometrics sensors are being set up along access points and Jeffries Tubes. Solana’s handling that.

T’Fearne: I’ve coordinated with Solana to ensure the sensor feeds integrate with our defensive systems. Real-time data will be crucial for adjusting our strategy if needed.

Raga: Excellent work. The Khitomer crew is going to focus on organizing an evac as needed so our sole focus is on station defense. Understood?

Osiris gave a steady nod, his calm demeanour giving T’Fearne the impression that he had years of experience with this sort of action.

T’Fearne: Yes Commander, :: resting her hands on the strap of her phaser rifle:: Sirs, may I ask what you anticipate regarding intruder capabilities and tactics? If an incursion occurs, how likely are they to negotiate or treaty?

Raga/Osiris: Response

T’Fearne::: picking up a PADD and flicking to her notes:: In that case, I have a suggestion for an additional layer of defence for the ports. Although I’m not sure if it’s feasible for the station until I speak with a DS33 engineer, if it's possible to increase the gravity in those sections, we could pin some intruders to the deck.

Nearly talking herself out of putting the idea forward, she waited to see their reactions, unsure if her idea would be dismissed or if there was an obvious flaw she had overlooked.

Raga/Osiris: Response

T’Fearne: Understood, Sir. oO At least he didn’t call it a stupid idea. Oo, I’ll focus on optimizing our current defences and using conventional measures.

Raga/Osiris: Response
