Tucker: That’s one big ass acronym…

Karrod snorted but tapped at his comm badge in reply.

Niac:  =/\= Comm check successful. Doctor Beck, can you hear us?  =/\=

Beck: =/\= Response =/\=

Solana: Response

Evinrude: =/\= That's right, we encountered it on the freighter - if this Ops officer could hazard a medical guess, it was engineered to carry the plague to as many species as possible...I see human and Andorian limbs, and, uh, several others. =/\=

Tucker: =/\= As gross as it is ::pointing at the nasty thing:: I really need to see what makes it tick. Because this is cutting-edge tech, and it’s hard to come by, unless you’re the Consortium, apparently. =/\=

Niac:  =/\= I promise to let you poke and scan the horror canister right up until Starfleet Medical gets here...and you just know they'll want a turn. Along with Starfleet Security...and half the Daystrom Institute.  But before we start selling tickets we need a treatment.  Doctor Beck...were you able to connect with Doctor Kel and Lt. Syrex?  Have you been able to make any progress?  =/\=

Evinrude/Beck/Solana: Response

Tucker: Right, once we get this thing disabled, my team and I want first crack at it…sir.

Niac:  =/\= That's excellent news, Doctor.  Can you effectively synthesize the treatment in large enough quantities to handle the survivors on the Rose and the Ronin's entire crew? =/\=

Tucker: ;;mostly to himself:: Thank the great Koala.

Decon chambers were nasty, and he roundly hated them with the fire of a thousand suns. It boiled down to his personal space and the lack thereof in those dam contraptions. He knew it was perfectly safe, hell, he helped install the current ones. But there were just things Marty didn’t budge on, and that was one.

Evinrude/Beck/Solana Response

Marty shifted side to side with his arms crossed over his chest, his phaser rifle hanging down his back. He was just glad they were able to come together to pull them through.

Leaning back against the side of the runabout, Karrod crossed his arms and closed his eyes for a moment, relieved enough to be enormously tired for a moment.

Niac: =/\= Very well Doctor, proceed at your discretion.  We'll be standing by to take critical patients who can't be transported to the Ronin.  Oh and Quentin?  Don't forget to send someone our way with a few hypos, alright? =/\=

Evinrude/Beck/Solana:

It didn’t take long for Beck’s minions to come and produce the hypo’s for the group gathered in the shuttle bay. The shot made him feel a little nauseous, but it was manageable.

Tucker: I’m pretty sure someone owes me a beer!

((Several Hours Later, Deck 14, Chief Engineers Quarters, USS Ronin))

A lone soft white light barely lit enough to see past it into the dark. Half illuminated by the light was Chief Engineer Marty Tucker. He was at his kitchen table, head in his hands, and a towel around his waist. He just got out of the sonic shower again, and he wasn’t sure if three was going to do it or not. So instead, he sat in silence at his kitchen table.

He got up, went to a cabinet, and grabbed a bottle of bourbon and a rocks glass. He sat back down, the bottle and glass making noise as he placed them on the table. He shakily poured himself two fingers and drank it down, grimacing when he did.

He drank another, and then another.

He reached over and extinguished the light. The cabin was engulfed in darkness.

END of Mission for Marty Tucker.
