Avae: Oooooooooh!! I know! I heard someone saw Rox with Marty at one of those fancy restaurants they had. ::the Antosians’ eyes lit up like Hobus just happened a second time::  ROX GOT SOME TUCKER!

Thess allowed herself a small snort but covered her face with the back of her hand in feigned shock.

Rox:  Wyla!  Get your mind out of the gutter!

De La Croix: By all means dear put it right back in there.  I'm sure dear Roxanne comported herself as a lady should...probably.  Maybe.  Possibly.

Avae: Food! I meant food of course. ::giggling:: Come on Rox, we all know just going on a date isn’t enough to put a girl in that good of a mood. ::her giggling subsided and she gave Rox a doey look:: Unlessssss, you really like who you went on a date with. Spill. It. Girl.

Rox:  What are we freshmen at the academy?  We can talk about this later we have work to do.

Thess crossed her arms and tilted her chin down, completely unmoved.

De La Croix: You know dear, since I'm spending a bit of time here I've been brushing up on my Starfleet legalese and I happened upon the most delightful protocol - the 'Boimler Effect.'  It very explicitly states that the concept of...I believe it's 'buffer time,' is not only encouraged...it's mandated.  We are to perform our duties in the way that makes the most sense to us...and I believe Nurse Avae and I are more than capable of re-calibrating a biobed or two in the ample time allotted.

Rox took two steps toward ward C and what she hoped was an escape from the pair, but it was not to be so.

Avae: I can prep wards in my sleep, stop trying to change the subject Rox. ::she giggled:: I pry because I care.

Rox: ::shaking her head::  Fine.  Fine you harpies.  Marty and I went down to the resort for dinner.  We got recalled before dinner was over, but we made the most of the facility before we beamed back to the ship.

Thess giggled and cast a sideways look towards Wyla.

De La Croix: Made the most of it, did you?  I assume you mean the aquatic center...or perhaps the zero g Jacuzzi?

Rox:  ::raising her hands::  I'm not spelling it out for you.

De La Croix:  Good girl...a Lady never tells.

Avae: Response

Roxanne gave the pair of them a look that seemed quite serious and Thess paused, considering.

Rox:  Marty is a great guy.  Don't do anything to spoil this for me.

Thess pouted, clutching at her heart as if wounded.

De La Croix:  My dear girl, why would we do something so base?  You're an intelligent young woman and I assume this...::she rolled the name around in her mouth like an unpleasant taste::...Martin...is intelligent enough to know that if he doesn't treat you well, you can make their unexpected passing look like a very plausible medical emergency.

Thess offered a sly wink, not entirely joking.

Avae: Response

Rox:  Why don't you two put yourselves out there?  I hear ::serious tone:: Commander Kel ::regular voice:: is lonely and desperate.

Thess snorted again and began wandering towards the biobeds.

De La Croix:  He does seem the competent sort but the blue clashes with my eyes dreadfully.  That Captain of yours is more beard than man, the scrumptious looking First Officer though...hmm, yes...pretty but a bit dense...he might be perfect.

Rox/Avae: Response

Thess threw up her hands and offered a grandiose shrug.

De La Croix:  Fine fine I do suppose that would be...impolite, if nothing else.  I don't especially like birds anyway.  Fine then...why don't you tell me more about this Martin while we do our vital..ish work?

Rox/Avae: Response

Thess found herself giggling again at the sudden comfort she took in such a mundane conversation.  It seemed the sort of thing she would've considered trivial a short time ago but now it felt...enriching somehow.  Part of her began to wonder if she shouldn't write a paper on the subject.

De La Croix:  Well if you must know there was this rather ravishing Elected One I met during a medical conference on Angel One...that was a delightful few months but alas, she had her planet to run and I had just become Chief Surgeon of Division Fourteen...

Thess found herself chatting as she tapped away at tricorders and tinkered with archaic biobeds, two tasks she normally loathed but for some reason now the time seemed to simply fly by.
