It seemed like they’d been looking at the remnants of several different Kurosawas, but not the Ronin’s Kurosawa, so there was hope yet, and also sitting on the flight deck was a coaxial warpdrive. It needed to be contained in stasis until they could get a closer look and pass it off to the Corps of Engineers. He could see why the Voyager crew went after it, fold space, be home in a jif! Though he was pretty sure that Lieutenant Morgan was going to want a gander,
Singh: Will that be sufficient, Commander?
Sybil and the Major turned to look at Marty. He had the feeling they had the same thought he did: what they could do from here. It was time to comb through more data to figure out just what was going on around here.
He folded his arms across his chest, looked at the group assembled, and the debris spread out before them. Hopefully, with all the data collected, someone could make heads or tails of it. As he said, quantum mechanics made his teeth itch.
He ran a hand through his red hair.
Tucker: Yeah, let's wrap it up and send all the data we have to the gang in Stellar Cartography. Maybe they can make heads or tails of it. ::pointing to the coaxial warp drive:: Contain that monstrosity and move it to my lab on deck 12. There’s a containment unit there; put it right next to the sleeping spiderbot.
That reminded him that he needed to thank both Cabrillo and Morgan for a job well done. Now it was a matter of sifting through a massive amount of data they gathered and pulled from the bot.
Singh: In that case Commander, I believe I should head to the Flight Operations Center to coordinate the search for the Shinano. I will update you on the effort as soon as I can. I will also have all our Valkyries moved to full tactical readiness...as a precaution. If that is acceptable, Commander.
He unfolded his arms and put his hands on his hips.
Tucker: That’s perfect major, keep them at the ready. Hopefully, the Shinano will blip back in. She’s one of my favorite Runabouts, outside of mine, of course. And tell your recovery group to be careful about the anomaly, especially the ‘fragments’ that were causing the biological reaction and mucking with our sensors.
Singh: Very well. Excellent work, Lieutenants...you may not have been able to explain this mystery, but you did uncover something more valuable at the moment...a reason for hope. Keep up the good work. ::She came to attention and nodded curtly:: Commander.
Marty nodded back as the Major departed the group; it was now him, Evinrude, and Nemes. It was time to put some of this data to good use.
Tucker: Major. You about wrapped up Lieutenant Nemes?
Nemes: Yes, Sir.
Tucker: Good. ::he tapped his comnadge:: Tucker to Captain Kel.
Marty waited for the trilldoraian’s voice to come over the speaker, yet he was greeted with silence. Maybe he wasn’t paying attention.
Tucker: Tucker to Kel.
Again nothing..
Tucker: Computer, locate acting Captain V’Len Kel
Computer: Captain V’Len Kel is not aboard the Ronin.
Tucker ran a hand over his face. This was not good.
Tucker: Alright, you two, you’re with me. We’re headed to the bridge.
