((Sickbay, USS Ronin, in orbit of Gas Giant A, Ross 580 System))
As Ian tried to sit up again Wyla moved to stand so she could hold an arm behind his back as he did so just in case he needed the support.
O’Connor: How long ‘til I can get outta here? Something tells me this isn’t even close to over with yet.
Shortrith: It'll probably be a day or two at least, purely because the injury was as bad as it was. We'll most likely need to keep an eye on you.
He frowned and was about to protest but then Avae affirmed.
Avae: What the doc said. ::she nodded simply::
O’Connor: What about a compromise? Maybe see how i’m doing in a couple hours. After driving the medical staff nuts for that long you’ll probably want to get rid of me anyway. :: he smiled at them both with a hint of mischief in his eye::
The voice of their resident Cardassian filled the pause between conversation, calling Renaie to the shuttlebay.
Esot: =/\= Esot to Shortrith and Zh'taan. Please meet me in Shuttlebay 1 on Deck 9 as soon as possible We will be collaborating with the Engineering team still on the surface to perform some repairs before extracting them. Bring along any emergency equipment you deem fit. =/\=
Shortrith: =/\= On my way, just need to finish what I'm doing. Shortrith out. =/\=
Zh'taan: =/\= Zh'taan to Esot. I’ll be there as soon as possible. Uh… Zh'taan out. =/\=
Esot: =/\= Understood. Esot out. =/\=
Renaie turned to Avae and there was a knowing exchange of looks.
Shortrith: Looks like I have places to be. Avae, I trust you to look after him. Take it easy, Commander.
Avae: Will do, doc. I’ll make sure he doesn’t get into trouble.
O'Connor: Duty calls, doc. But don’t put all that responsibility on Wyla. Keeping me outta trouble seems to be a pretty tall order, But thanks again and keep your head on a swivel down there.
He smiled.
Avae: Well, might as well get comfy. You’re going to be here for a few days. I can get you a Twibble if you like?
O'Connor: No not right yet but when things ease up :: points around to the commotion where ‘dari, Kangar and de la Croix are engaged in lively conversation.:: I could maybe go for a sponge bath. :: smiles jokingly::
As they spoke another biobed nearby lit up, and a sweat drenched engineer crawled out from under the bed in question. She gave a grateful nod towards them.
Avae: Thank you, Dahl.
Dahl: Sure thing, LT. Biobeds five, ten, thirty and forty one are all going to need new isolinear boards. It’s going to take some time to get them all back up and running. Maybe a half hour. I have to get more parts from Engineering.
They both watched as the engineer left the room and Avae looked back at Ian.
O’Connor: Looks like you’re saved by the blinking lights. Seriously though, Wyla. Thank you.
The volume of the conversation across the room intensified and they both looked again in that direction. Ian had the inkling that Wyla was judging whether or not she needed to intervene. Ian just wondered as to who needed saving from who.
Avae: How’s the pain? ::she asked, studying the readouts above his biobed:: Would you like some water or other drink?
O’Connor: Although I hear our new surgeon makes a mean gimlet, I guess we’ll save the other drinks for later. Water will do, but I won’t stop you from putting an umbrella in it.
Avae: Response
O’Connor: It’s a human thing. Ask Rox. I’m sure she’ll know.
Avae: Response
Ian pointed over to the bed next to where Thess and ‘dari were “conversing”
O’Connor: Is that the “kid” who yanked me out of the crawlspace?
Avae: Response
O’Connor: Anybody question him yet as to why he was running around trying to shooting at us through the ceiling into the crawlspaces?
Avae: Response
O’Connor: Maybe I should say hi.
Ian sat up and grabbed a piece of the jagged rusted metal. He slid off the biobed and started to make his way over before Wyla stepped in front of him.
Avae: Response
O’Connor: It’s okay. I’m not going to hurt the kid…guy…whatever. ::he saw her outstretched hand:: Fine, fine..::he gave up the metal shard:: but consider it a trade for either something to drink besides water or the sponge bath. Besides, it was just going to be a conversation opener anyway.
Avae: Response
He slowly made his way across the room to interrupt the conversation.
Avae/de la Croix/’dari/Kangar: Response
