Evinrude: =/\= I'm showing green across the board, upgraded sensor pod is fully interfaced with the Shinano's systems. =/\=
Marty nodded to Evinrude; they were indeed ready to go with the new sensor package.
Singh: =/\= Confirmed, I'm getting good sensor returns out to several hundred thousand kilometers and the link is stable. Beyond the Ronin and the Rose, there's no contacts in the immediate area. Recommend you come to course two three one mark one one four and close up formation for a least time intercept. Confirm? =/\=
O’Connor was piloting, which was a good thing. Best pilot in the fleet, as far as Marty was concerned.
O'Connor: =/\= Affirmative, Major. I’m looping around behind you now.=/\=
Marty’s hands ran over the LCARS, keeping an eye out for any anomalies from either the sensor package or from the engines. However, one of the things he liked about the old Danube Class is that they were horses. During the Dominion War, runabouts were extensively used.
With the Shinano, there were some slight quirks, and with new plasma manifolds, he needs to keep an eye on them. Sometimes they didn’t like to integrate well without some percussive maintenance. An unwanted beep from his console gained his attention.
Tucker: Mr. Varek, can you go back to the back and check out those manifolds that were installed? You might have to adjust the flow from time to time; they’re working, but not at peak proficiency. I appreciate it.
Evinrude: =/\= Woah, sensor fidelity is impressive, even at range. =/\=
O’Connor: =/\= Major, sending you an alternate route suggestion. We’d have to shave the rings of a gas giant but it cut off a few minutes putting us only 3 minutes behind Gra’vel’s intercept.=/\=
The only thing Marty knew was that he really didn’t want to chase after a shuttle from the Compass Rose; they had a mission to complete. Find the freighter and hopefully work up a cure of some sort. Marty watched as Evinrude shifted the Shinano’s sensors towards the gas giant.
Tucker: Holy cow, look at these readings, ::Marty ran a hand trough his unruly red mane. The things we’re picking up, we’d never had even so much picked up, even on the Ronin’s sensors.
Singh: Response
O’Connor: =/\= Your call Major. You're the one with a lot less shielding. =/\=
Singh: Response
Evinrude: =/\= I'll pipe our improved sensor data on the gas giant into your Valkyrie's nav feed, sir. =/\=
Tucker: We need to get on it, according to my readings Lieutenant Kessler is getting exponentially worse. The quicker we find this needle in a haystack the better.
Evinrude: ::Very quietly, to himself.:: Is that?
Marty caught Evinrude in his peripheral vision and it looked like something had piqued his interest. He got up and stretched before looking over the Lieutenants shoulder.
Evinrude: =/\= There! I've got something. Energy signature near a large asteroid, bearing two-eight-nine, mark fourteen. The gas giant's L4 lagrange point. Wait...now it's gone again... =/\=
Tucker: It’s gone? As in, it showed up and blink and ya miss it?
O'Connor/Singh: Response
Evinrude: =/\= It could be latched onto a rotating planetoid? If mineral deposits are interfering with our scans, the energy signature would disappear when it rotates away from us. =/\=
Marty turned to Evinrude.
Tucker: Set the sensors to filter out that kind of noise, with this sensor package, you peel alway the layers. That’s why it was to be used on solar anomalies.
O'Connor/Singh: Response
Marty’s hands did the dance over the LCARS in front of him, he was still monitoring the away teams vitals, and he was about to spin up a search for any life pods that might be in the area. With them not using their beacons it was going to be a bit of a problem, but with the sensors they had at present evened the score, and if any were out here, Marty would find them.
Tucker: I’m beginning a sweep looking for Starfleet escape pods, since no one is using their beacons, I’ll be searching for the things that make up a life pod. Not to mention any lifesigns we can pick up as well, most of the crew got off the ship, but what shape were they in when they left?
Evinrude/Singh/O’Connor: Response
As Marty monitored the sensor sweeps, it had been nothing for a bit after Evinrudes disappear thingmabob. He’d been runing scans for life signs and the composition of what makes up a Starfleet escape pod. Just when he was starting to get distracted with something else, his this time beeped what he would deem a positive beat.
Tucker: Major, Commander. I’ve picked up life signs about ten clicks ahead, it’s coming from an asteroid. I’m reading three different bio signs. Vulcan, Tellerite and Andorian. Should we mark their position for pick up?
Evinrude/Singh/O’Connor: Response
Marty nodded and got back to work, he’d paint each one they found with a marker so that they could conduct recovery efforts because he had a feeling this wasn’t the first ones they’d find. Hopefully they could recover as much crew as possible.
Tucker: I’ve marked their location and transmitted the data back to the Ronin so they can start some recovery efforts via runabout.
Evinrude/Singh/O’Connor: Response
