Knight: If all goes according to plan, the pulse will not only get rid of the chronitons around the ship but should also bring our ships back to our side if they’re out of phase. That is my thought. The pulses should do the trick.
Gunny watched while the Major rolled her eyes.
Singh: This is what happens when the blue shirts are running the ship. Speaking of...I need to check in with the CO.::She tapped at the comm:: =/\= Singh to the Bridge, I need to speak to Commander Kel or Commander Tucker. =/\=
The voice that came back was not one of Commander Tucker or Commander Kel, but one of the ship's pilots. Which, to the Gunny, seemed a bit off, both the XO and Captain were off the ship at the same time, and he realized they just torched through several, if not many, Starfleet regulations.
Vomek: =/\= This is Lieutenant Vomek. Commanders Kel and Tucker are not here at the moment. May I relay a message? =/\=
Gideon crossed his arms across his chest as he watched his Major all but take the pants off the poor Lieutenant at the other end of the commline. He would not like to be that L-T right now.
Singh: =/\= Lieutenant...are you...are you telling me the entire command team has left the bridge while the ship is at alert? Where in the Koala's name have they gone? Who is in command? =/\=
Knight: Is it always like this??
Vomek: =/\= I'm in charge of things up here for the moment. I believe Lt. Morgan is handling things in Engineering. =/\=
Gideon, for his part, tried to tune it all out, but wasn’t so lucky. So he went back to the hologlobe and input some more calculations.
Knight: ::under his breath:: He has no clue what’s coming…
Gideon, for his part, kept his eyes forward and worked on the the display, overlaying telemetry with recent probe findings as well, hoping that the Shinano showed up on scans soon. The more time spent possibly somewhere else wasn’t a good idea, who knew if they came back they’d be the same age as when they left, he shook his head to clear it, it was all to much to think about.
Ishani pinched the bridge of her nose with two fingers as she used what remained of her self-control to keep from eviscerating the unfortunate Lieutenant.
Singh: =/\= Lieutenant...I have ordered a general recall of all our small craft....spatial conditions outside the ship are simply too dangerous for us to mount an effective search operation. We were in the process of recovering the wreckage of the Shinano when two more of my fighters and the S&R runabout vanished from sensors. I am told the ship is preparing to release an energy pulse which should counteract this effect...do you know when? Should I advise my people to take any special precautions? =/\=
Vomek: =/\= You should check with Engineering. =/\=
Knight: ::looking at Major mouthing: What the hell?
Ishani realized she was gripping the console hard enough to bend the composite.
Singh: =/\= Lieutenant...listen very carefully. If the Commanders Kel and Tucker are out there...and haven't tumbled headlong into one of these anomalies...they're in enormous danger. Runabouts do not offer sufficient protection from whatever has been done to this system. You have to get them back to the ship immediately. Or I'm going to get them.=/\=
Vomek: =/\= On it, Sir. Ma'am. Major!. I'll find them. =/\=
Gideon was pretty sure that the young lieutenant was going to need a fresh change of underwear before he could continue, if he had enough ass left. The commline closed, and Gideon returned to the hologlobe. It flickered as the ship listed to one side. Several unmanned stations in Flight Ops exploded in a shower of sparks; the hologlobe, for its part, stayed running.
Gideon grabbed the sides of his console to steady himself, and as quickly as it had happened, it was over. If Knight were a betting man, he was pretty sure the power transfer developed a feedback loop, and they didn’t cut it off quite in time.
Knight: ::he furrowed his brow:: Not good, Major, not good.
Singh: Response
The minor mishaps didn’t seem to relax the Major; if not, it just wound her tighter. She reminded him of a training officer during his time with Search and Rescue, wound as tight as a Kerelian spinner. There wouldn’t be any rest until all the birds were back. It seems the engineering team sent out an anti-chronoton pulse. While it didn’t work as intended, the Shinano and the Valkryies reappeared on the hologlobe before it was shut down.
Knight: WE GOT FRIENDLIES!!
Singh: Response
Gideon did a double-take when he saw another ship enter the AO. There was no transponder, so there was no data available, and scans in the system were a crap shoot at best.
Knight: We’ve got an unknown bogie at bearing 1-4-7 by 3-5, and she looks big.
