((Arboretum, Deck 4, USS Ronin))

Winslett: Unless there’s some kind of medical emergency, I’m just here as a resource. I don’t go hunting anyone down. At least, I haven’t in a long time. ::chuckling good naturedly:: Now, how about those security questions?

August was satisfied that they had relative privacy where they were and he wanted to make sure T’Fearne got the information she needed.

T’Fearne: Very well. I see that you have been through the majority of the security questions before. Just a few questions specific to this post and the Alpha Isles region. :: offering him a moment :: We can pause anytime. If you’d prefer a more private setting, just say the word.  If you have any other questions throughout the process, please don’t hesitate to stop me and ask.

Winslett: I appreciate the offer. I’ll make sure to let you know if I have any questions, but I think I’m ready to go.

T’Fearne: :: clear, quiet voice :: This security re-certification interview is being recorded in holo, audio formats and transcribed. T’Fearne Elaazni, Ensign, Security Division, USS Ronin, NCC-34523. I am acting as the interview certifier. For the record, please state your name, rank, and current duty assignment.

Winslett: My name is August Winslett. I’m a Lieutenant, Junior Grade commissioned aboard the USS Ronin where I currently serve as the ship’s counselor.

T’Fearne: Have you ever engaged in any personal or professional dealings with a sentient species that maintains hostility toward the Federation?

Though he knew the answer, August took a moment to think. He wanted to make sure he was being thorough and forthcoming with T’Fearne out of respect for her position and the job she had to do.

Winslett: Not to my knowledge, no.

He dutifully answered the questions she propounded to him in a manner that he hoped seemed respectful and earnest. The last thing he wanted to do was give the security division on his new ship a reason to doubt him. As they went through the interview, he attempted to maintain a relaxed, casual demeanor, but could see T’Fearne studying him closely. She wasn’t taking this interview lightly. It spoke well to her character that she wasn’t just going through the motions: she really cared about what she was doing and the security of her ship. August was confident that, in a crisis, this was a person to be trusted. He hoped she felt the same about him.
