((Command Center, Deep Space 33))

It was a quirk of life that a simple celebration such as Frontier Day could end up resulting in the opposite of joviality. Given the horrifying news that Karrod had brought back from Cait with about a likely compromised Starfleet was compounded by the fact they knew the Alliance and likely others, had been tipped off by someone, possibly Singen Wrath, that their borders were uncharacteristically poorly defended for the moment. A plan had been devised, hatched and now in the process of execution. The Khitomer and Ronin were both away from the station, in a bold attempt to strike at the Alliance before they could make a move, his own ship being the bait for their gambit. The idea of the Ronin’s deceit of being easy prey didn’t bother him, when else could the Alliance have a better chance to defeat the bigger threat of the two Starfleet ships in the region.

For his own part, Toryn, along with a sizable number of the Ronin’s crew, had remained behind on the station in order to organize a defense should the worst come to pass. Some of whom had experience with the sort of fighting they were likely to deal with should the station be boarded and given their recent run in with the Consortium, the entire crew was experienced in repelling boarders.

He’d left Senior CPO Solana and their resident Starfleet Ranger, Lieutenant Osiris back in the commercial sector of Beta module along with Ensign T’Fearne to set up their Forward Observation Post and defenses. While he detoured to the Command center to connect with the locals and those from the Khitomer to coordinate roles. Based on the conversation he overheard on the way in there seemed to be some tension between two of the officers present.

Stergis: Response?

He cleared his throat as he approached the two of them and offered a nod to each, this wasn’t the time for his usual greeting.

Raga: Commanders.

MacKenna: I...I'd like to link into Blacknet if I could. Is there a console I could borrow?

Raga: I would also request a secondary link to the command center out on the promenade. My people are setting up an FOP there so we can organize a central defense within short distance to key areas and the ones most likely to have intruders should it come to it.

Stergis/MacKenna: Response?

Though he wasn’t the best at being able to read people, even he could sense the trepidation in the Command Center. It was likely that the Ronin, Khitomer and the station might end up in a bad way before the day was through, but they were all Starfleet officers. They knew the stakes and they had civilians to protect her as well as their own. They see this through, no matter the end.

Raga: The docking ports are the easiest egresses to the station as long as the shields hold, so I plan to reinforce those areas and focus most of our defense there while keeping enough smaller teams on hand that can remain mobile and react to any threats as needed. Especially critical areas. But we’ll go wherever you need us most.

Stergis/MacKenna: Response?

The Al-Leyan’s brow raised in a vulcanoid manner and he regarded Commander MacKenna, this was the first time meeting her.

Raga: Very well, we’ll handle the defenses while you handle the evacuation. My crew has unfortunately had to repel boarders a lot recently so they’ll be up to the task of holding our ground as long as needs be. ::To both women:: We’ve got your backs, so do what you need to do.

Stergis/MacKenna: Response?

((ooc: Glad to keep expanding here as needed, just going to throw some tags for my Ronin so as not to clutter the scene))

((Warrior Sports, Promenade, Commercial Sector, Beta Module))

It was a quick turbolift ride and hustled walk from the Command Center in the Main Compartment of the station to the location on the Promenade that he’d chosen to use as their FOP and tasked his people with setting up the consoles, barricades and fortifications for their little outpost.

Raga: Ensign, how are things coming with the fortifications at the docking ports?

T’Fearne: Response?

The Ronin’s XO nodded graciously and took stock of their impromptu forward command center. It was coming along nicely if in stark contrast to the various exercise equipment around that had been moved where possible to give them space to work with.

Raga: Good, we’ve got a lot of ground to cover and fortify. Focus on the docking areas but be sure we can easily clear the way for an evacuation as needed.

The large cat he had served many years with strode into the room with his favored long barreled Type 32A OSR phaser rifle he’d often deployed when the space permitted and he knew the Worene sniper would make sure to cover the wide open spaces of the Promenade well with it.

Osiris: Security sweeps are underway, sir. If there’s any holes in our defenses they will be sealed. And the additional visual and biometrics sensors are being set up along access points and Jeffries Tubes. Solana’s handling that.

T’Fearne: Response?

Toryn nodded at the feline, while the Command Center would relay any potential intruders onto the station so they could mount a defense as needed, it was good to have a backup system in case the station took damage or sabotage enough to lose internal sensors.

Raga: Excellent work. The Khitomer crew is going to focus on organizing an evac as needed so our sole focus is on station defense. Understood?

The big cat simply nodded and his tail’s gentle sway matched his facial calm, but he expected no less from a Dominion War veteran.

T’Fearne: Response?

((Any Ronin that have a PNPC they want to toss this way for defense are more than welcome. But happy hunting to the rest. ))
