((Delphina Wren’s quarters, USS Ronin))
Delphina sat up with a startled yelp as she heard her commbadge go off.
Evinrude: =/\= Lieutenant Evinrude to Ensign Delphina Wren. =/\=
Glancing around frantically for a moment, Delphina tried to remember where she was, before realizing it was her quarters. She’d come in after her meeting with Tucker, then immediately passed out on her bed without bothering to set an alarm. Checking the time, she realized she’d been out for about six or seven hours, and she gave a small groan. oO Why is he full-naming me? How many times has he called?? Oo
Wren: =/\= ::clearing her throat:: Hello! Yes, lieutenant, sorry, I’m here. =/\=
She sat up, head throbbing as she searched for a hair tie, throwing her hands up in frustration as she came up empty.
Evinrude: =/\= As you were, Ensign... =/\= ::He said amicably.:: =/\= I understand you have been made available by Chief Tucker to assist with the gel pack problem on deck ten? =/\=
Wren: =/\= Yes, I have, sir. I was planning to head down shortly….=/\= oO I hope sick bay isn’t too occupied, the last thing I need with this headache is… not a very nice thought to have. Oo ::tapping her comm badge off for a second:: Remy! Come to mama, buddy, I need Function Three real quick.
Remy climbed out of his enclosure, hopping onto her outstretched hand and scrambling up her shoulder. As he reached the nape of her neck, he wrapped his legs around the bun she’d formed, flattening his body as he did so. In a few moments, he’d turned himself from a robotic tool into a none-too-shabby hair clip.
Wren: Good boy, thank you, Remy.
Evinrude: =/\= Wonderful, I'll see you there. I have fresh coffee, and there's certainly time to replicate something else. Looking forward to meeting you! =/\=
Wren: ::tapping her badge again:: =/\= On my way! =/\=
((A few minutes later - Stellar Cartography, Deck 10, USS Ronin))
Delphina stepped out of the lift, making her way to stellar cartography. Her headache was still pulsing behind her ears, but Remy was occasionally sending a soothing vibration that kept it from turning much worse.
The man in front of her was human, and about her age. Her friend Marcus from back at the academy probably would have found him very handsome, but what mattered more to Delphina right now was the spark of intelligence in his eyes. She had nothing but respect for ops, despite some of the… rivalries that had popped up in the academy. What mattered was capability, and based on what she’d heard, Mr. Evinrude was very capable. He held out his hand, and she gave a firm, professional shake.
Evinrude: Ensign Wren! Tess Evinrude, operations.
Wren: Pleasure to meet you, sir. Delphina Wren. I see you’ve already gotten started? oO Am I late? I didn’t think I’d scheduled a specific time to do this. Oo
Evinrude: Response
Delphina crouched on her heels, peering into the space to look at the gel packs. They looked fine from the outside, and she didn’t see any leakage, which meant it was either a connective or internal issue.
Wren: Do we have a list of the reported issues in…. Medical? oO I’d prefer not to talk to them unless I have to….. Well, maybe Shortrith, they were nice. Oo Maybe we can narrow it down based on the symptoms. ::scanning the packs with her tricorder::
Evinrude: Response
Wren: Hm, okay…. There’s too much interference to get a reading like this. Let’s pop one of these guys out and take a look.
Evinrude: Response
As Delphina worked, she glanced up, noting the holes in the wall with mild curiosity. They looked almost like knife wounds, but she couldn’t be sure. oO That can’t be good for the Ronin… Oo
Wren: ::Nodding at the incisions:: What’s um…… what’s going on over there?
Evinrude: Response
Wren:....... ::flushing a little:: I see…. ::clearing her throat, tapping Remy:: Remy, Function five, please
Remy unwound himself, crawling back down her arm, and wriggled into the small space. As she watched, he used his little pincers to safely unplug the gel pack without damaging it, and she gave a smile as he passed it to her.
Wren: Thank you, Remy- ::noticing that she hasn’t introduced them:: Lieutenant, this is Remy. ::like a proud parent:: I built him back at the academy, he’s designed to be an engineering aide.
Evinrude: Response
