((ooc: Introducing two new PNPCs. Unlike a lot of our new ‘arrivals’ they’ve actually been on board since the Siege of DS33 ended. Think of it like introducing another part of the crew in a later season but they’ve been there a while.))
((Worker Bee Kyūzō, Ronin Exterior Catamaran, The Reef Dockyard))
Intense focus furrowed the otherwise pristine smooth skin of her brow as she carefully kept the bulkhead in place with the Grabber Sled. While the flicker of the plasma welder affixed the piece of the internal bulkhead from her end. The small droplet of perspiration that ran down her face just a few centimeters from one of her eyes went ignored as she maintained her focus. Not that she could do anything about it anyways since she was in an EV suit. And this was the last of the hull breaches in the catamaran that needed sealing.
A steady rhythmic bump against her worker bee elicited the faintest curl of her lip in the whisper of a smirk. She ignored it as well for a moment until her work was finished and she exhaled slowly. She disengaged the plasma torch on the Grabber Sled and slowly engaged the forward thrusters to ease the Kyūzō away from the hull. Her worker bee had been almost wedged inside the hole she'd placed the interior bulkhead. Underneath the curve of the port side catamaran. She felt a slight nudge against her worker bee a moment before her view was filled with vibrant luminescence of the familiar shape she’d come to refer to as Amandus. One of the cosmozoans roughly the same size as the Kyūzō stuffed itself curiously into the external hull breach she’d just extricated her craft out of.
With an amused giggle she tapped the comm panel inside her cockpit.
Eryxus, G: =/\= Gaia Eryxus to Commander Tucker. =/\=
Tucker: =/\= Response =/\=
She stared at the tail waving out of the hull breach almost excitedly as if her work was being inspected for quality assurance.
Eryxus, G: =/\= I’ve completed the installation of the last interior hull breach in the catamaran….Stop sticking your nose in that already. My work is fine! =/\=
Tucker: =/\= Response =/\=
Eryxus, G: =/\= Oh, no Commander. I was talking to Amandus, one of the cosmozoans that seem to be assisting with repairs. He’s been following me around since we started the external patches. I’m ready to remove the damaged hull piece so we can replace it. I can do that now if you want sir? =/\=
Mindful of the confined space she maneuvered the worker bee out and rotated it to face the Ronin’s forward and took in the view. Amandus seemed to sense what she was doing though as far as she thought only Narhelion and the Reef had that capability. It was wondrous enough, but if all of these beautiful creatures could do the same they were truly blessed by gods. Though she struggled to think which ones specifically would apply to what she saw in the moment. Jove? Cybele? Caelus? Libertas? Tranquilitas? All ruled over aspects of what she had experienced here in some way. So she offered up a silent prayer to each in the moment as she watched several of Amandus’ kin working on the Ronin.
Tucker: =/\= Response =/\=
Eryxus, G: =/\= Really, sir. I’m fine. I’ve only been out here for five hours. And we still have a lot of work to do left. Has the damage control team completed the repair to the interior bulkhead from the inside? =/\= I suppose we've earned a slight break, haven't we Amandus?
Amandus floated up into her peripheral view as the small but adorably rotund cosmozoan mimicked what she was doing with her worker bee. She smiled and waved at him and received the usual strobing pattern of lights along his frame. She sat back in her cramped little seat and took a moment's respite while she listened to Chief Tucker.
Tucker: =/\= Response =/\=
