((Ian O’Connor’s quarters, Deck 7,  USS Ronin, in orbit of Lolagi IV ))

Poagie stood frantic in Ian’s doorway waving his arms and rambling.

More than usual.

Ian did his best to calm him but it seemed to have no effect. It took several minutes for Ian to piece together the basics of what happened. The most important part being that Poagie’s sister had been kidnapped.

That hit Ian like a gut punch as having sisters of his own he could empathize with the Ferengi. He couldn’t imagine the state he’d be in if he were in that situation.

Just when he thought about calling in one of the medical staff to get Poagie a sedative, Vomek commed and filled in a lot of the details. There were still a lot of unanswered questions, but it seemed from the design of the vessel that Orion pirates were involved.

After continuing to try to ease Poagie into a sense of semi-rationality, Ian pawned him off on his roommate, k’Oar-€l.

Ian then went to the Captain and XO to see what could be done. After bringing in Vomek, Tucker and Kel to replay the events, analyze the data that Vomek collected at the scene of the crime and full-out brainstorm session, a plan was hatched. Ian and Poagie would take a temporary leave of absence, rent a shuttle non-Starfleet from Lolagi IV, modify it with upgraded sensors (and a few other Tuck surprises), and follow the trail.

Ian went back to his quarters to pack a bag throwing in just the basic essentials. He sat down for a moment and sent off two quick video messages, one to his own family and another to Zora, His last stop was to Beck and Shortrith in sickbay who gave him the last few doses of the de-aging treatment to self inject.

Within just a few hours, a slightly banged up, inconspicuous shuttlecraft pulled away from Lolagi IV headed back to the site of the abduction.

Ian turned the viewer to rear facing and watched the Ronin fade away. He hoped he’d be back soon.

End scene (Begin LoA) for O’Connor/No Tags
