((OOC:I think I got it all this time.))

((Jefferies Tube 73-1-Alpha, Beta Module, Deep Space 33))

Kiran: =/\= Aye, sir. We’ll head back in your direction. Rork out.  =/\= :: He tapped his comm badge to close the connection, turning to Solana.:: You heard the man. Let's head back to HQ and see what it looks like.

She gave a salute, and she laid on the sultry-ness.

Solana: After you.

Kiran: ::he smirked:: No, I insist, ladies first.

He made a sweeping gesture down the corridor. Rork still wasn’t sure what to make of the Orion, he’d be kidding himself if he didn’t find her attractive, But she was also old enough to be his daughter, and that thought made him shiver a bit.

Solana gave him quite the smile while flicking her hair back. The only response that Kiran would give was a head cocked, raised eyebrow, and arms crossed against his chest.

Solana: Maybe I just want to enjoy the view on the way back? Turnabout, being all fair play and whatnot. But in case you hadn’t noticed, the red alert’s going off so move it.

Kiran: ::he smirked:: Listen, kid, I was doing this sort of thing with damn near rocks and sticks, before you were a twinkle in your mother's eyes.

They hadn’t gone far when someone ran up to them. Starfleet, one pip.

oO Sigh Oo

He didn’t particularly recognize this ensign, but to him, they were all the same, well, for the most part. Another one that was old enough to be his kid, and he’d have to call him sir at some point. But whatever the man was, he had an air of urgency.

Valo: Yo. oO Inhale. Exhale. Oo Kiran and Solana? Orders are to escort you back to the Forward, Uh, the FOP.

Solana: Well, you heard him, get a move on, old man.

Kiran: ::rolling his eyes:: Sure thing…

And like that, she turned, smirked, and started at a full run; Kiran looked at the fresh ensign, shrugged his shoulders and took off after her.

((Warrior Sports, Promenade, Commercial Sector, Beta Module))

All three entered the room, almost at the same time. It looked like Commander Raga had the attention of the room, so Kiran came to a stop as did the other two.

Raga: Good, you’re all here. ::He whistled softly to draw the attention of those in the room and tapped an icon on the LCARs for the primary console in the room, opening a line to all Security personnel and a single fighter outside the station:: =/\= This is Raga, I regret to inform you all that our little ploy to bait the Lattice Alliance hasn’t gone as planned. The Ronin and Khitomer engaged them, but it’s safe to assume what they engaged was a decoy of their own. The Lattice Alliance is on its way here, now and it’s clear they left a while ago. Less than an hour you said, Major? =/\=

Singh: =/\= Response =/\=

Rork folded his arms across his chest.

Kiran: ::mainly to himself:: Things are about to go pear-shaped..

T’Fearne/Solana: Response

The commander gestured to the holo-table and the image floating atop it. It was a real-time feed from the Major’s sensor readings.

Raga: =/\= Thank you Major. Get your people back here on the double and plan your defense based on the new data. Until our ships can return, you and your pilots are the only thing keeping them outside. =/\=

Singh: =/\= Response =/\=

Raga: =/\= Good, all teams if you haven’t finished your assigned tasks then double your efforts and get to your positions. Raga out. =/\= ::He looked to those in front of him:: Solana, you’re on quick response with Epsilon squad. Osiris, grab Bekka and T’Van, you three are on overwatch.

The Orion and Worene both nodded curtly, then rushed out of the room to do as ordered.

Kiran: ::looking at Osiris and Solana:: Happy hunting.

T’Fearne/Solana: Response

Valo: What can we do sir?

Raga: Easy. You four are with me. We’re Seiuri Squad. We’ll hold the FOP but also are a quick response force if needs be. ::He gestured to the back wall lined with temporary weapon racks:: Ensign Valo, take your pick.

Rork watched as the fresh ensign eyes lighted up at the plethora of weapons before him. It was like a kid with a jumja stick. Though the thought of one of those sickly sweets made the old Bajoran’s stomach hurt.

Valo: A 33 feels appropriate. ::A barely perceptible smile:: Besides, they are especially suited to combat in tight quarters. They were instrumental in the retaking of DS17. Plus, the stock is really great for smashing…::He looked up and shifted self-consciously.:: Um, pumpkins?

He wasn’t sure what the earth gourd had to do with fighting back the Alliance. But to each their own, he guessed. He gave his thirty-three a pat on the butt of the weapon.

Kiran: Nice choice ensign.

T’Fearne: : Giving the Betazoid a Vulcazoid eyebrow rise at the comment:: Here are the spare power packs. :: Stepping over to him and opening a supply case of rifle power cells and passing spares to the Bajoran and Raga::

Solana: Response

Raga: The Sheliak and Tholians are both silicon based lifeforms. Heavy stun won’t have as much of an effect on them as they would on us. So, be sure to set your weapons to setting six. To that end, be damned careful what you shoot at. We’re going to have a hard enough time not losing anyone as is without friendly fire. Understood?

Valo: Aye sir.

Kiran: Aye, aye Commander.

T’Fearne: Acknowledged Commander.

Solana: Response

Raga: Good. Questions or concerns? ::He looked to the two Ensigns:: Chief Kiran and I have been through this a few times together and separately, we know what to expect, so now's the time to show your fears and worries so we can temper them with experience and hope.

Kiran waited for one of the Ensigns to speak up. Fresh out of the Academy or not, now was not the time for mistakes. Rork was sure they were trained, but that was all simulations, this was the real thing. They were about to be knee-deep in it.

Valo: I’m sorry to admit this sir, but I’m feeling a bit unprepared for the battle at hand. ::He looked to the group as a whole.:: Who exactly are we dealing with and what sort of combat tactics are they likely to employ?

And there it is. Kiran knew it was coming. Now was not the time for hand-holding. The Lattice Alliance was of the take-no-prisoners variety. It was kill or be killed, with no actual grey area. Kiran could tell the reality of the situation had finally fallen on Valo. The kid was wet behind the ears, and it showed. He’d seen it before, fighting the Cardassians and then the Dominion. War was a crap sandwich and they were about to bite down

Kiran: ::grim::The only thing you need to know, as I’m sure the Commander would agree, is that neither the Tholians nor the Sheliak takes prisoners.

T’Fearne: :: To Raga:: On that note, given what you mentioned about their tactics, if they breach the station, they won’t be aiming to stun or take prisoners. What are our protocols for dealing with prisoners in this scenario?

Solana/Raga: Response

Valo: Commander, if the plan is to destroy this station as a last resort, and both supporting vessels are unavailable for evacuation…

He could see the grimace on the kid's face. It said it all. He clasped the man's shoulder.

Kiran: ::hushed:: There’s always a plan B, this one just happens to include explosions…

T’Fearne:  :: Holding a PADD that she had been running scenarios:: Could we take some of their ships if we needed to? Lure them aboard the station into a trap, take their vessels?

Solana/Raga: Response

Kiran double-checked his tactical vest, he had a couple of Lieutenant Tucker’s EMP and Thermoplastic grenades, and he was sure they would come in handy. He also checked his phaser rifle for a third time, yes it was still in operating order.

Kiran: ::turning to Raga:: Do we have the standard fallback points located yet?

T’Fearne: : Giving a slight shrug:: My other ideas are a bit more far-fetched, consisting of moving the station somehow or transporting a few teams onto the enemy ships. Get everyone off station, blow it up as they arrive to confuse their fleet so our vessels can escape.

Rork’s brow furrowed, there was a hint of an idea: a boarding party.

Solana/Raga: Response

Rork looked around the room at those assembled, hell he was older than most of them. And while there were a few exceptions, most hadn’t fired a shot in war. And that’s what this was war, their war. They started it and by the grace of the Prophets, he and his group would finish it. He figured it was the time to speak up.

Kiran: Listen, folks, we’ve got a job to do. It’s time to stay frosty and watch your teammates back. Most enemies don’t fight fair and don’t expect the Alliance to be any different.  Remember your training, it will serve you well in the hours to come.

T’Fearne/Solana/Raga: Response
