Luxa felt her nerves fade away as she watched the Saurian lower the small, glowing capsule into the pool steadily.
Lorana: Ensign Syrex adjust the temperature by 0.6 degrees. Vaazqith can you please increase the modulation by 3 points.
Syrex: On it.
As the young Trill performed her task expertly, Luxa could see a change in the environmental conditions of their pool
Lorana: How's the symbiont doing Ensign?
Syrex: Neuronal impulses within the symbiont have increased by 13%, and impulses into the pool have decreased by 40%. ::Turns to Lorana:: If I had to guess, I would say that the symbiont was giving a sigh of relief. If it continues like this, we’ll have a healthy symbiont within hours.
Lorana: We’ll all be sighing some relief if its condition continues to improve.
Syrex: When that happens, we may be able to still communicate with the symbiont. We’d be able to get the shield frequency and parameters that can act as a defence towards sencha radiation.
Lorana: We can hope so.
Luxa looked into the pool and the symbiont circled its new home, albeit a little slowly.
Syrex: I would recommend using Vylax as an intermediary for that, they’ll understand instantly what the symbiont is saying, but we may need to use the computer to send a reply. :: Pauses, giving a slight scowl:: That could take a little longer to develop, but we know it’s possible as the Lattice alliance clearly have the technology onboard the structure.
Luxa diverted her attention from the pool to the Trill doctor, and then the hybrid officer.
Lorana: If Crewman Vylax is willing and there is nothing in her medical file that would prevent it, and her superior officer approves then I think it could be a good way for us to establish a link. Although let’s focus on it’s health for now, doctor.

Luxa and Alyndra had done little else than adjust the modulations, and consistency of the pool until the symbiont had come out of it’s laboured state. It now swam freely around the pool, larger and more free than it’s confinement on the station.
There was no way for Luxa to know for sure, but she hoped that the symbiont was finding some joy in it.
Lorana: I think we can begin, doctor. Are both your patients ready? The rest of the Excalibur’s medical team are at battle stations so it will just be both of us and Crewman Vylax :: to Vylax :: Are you sure you are ready for this? We have no way of understanding how this symbiont may respond?
Vylax had been adorned in a plain robe, with certain receptors woven into it, which would help conduct the resonance modulation through her body.
Vylax: Yes, sir.
Luxa nodded again.
Syrex: Response

Lorana: Okay, I think that’s our sign to hurry this along!
Syrex: Response
Vylax stepped into the pool, assisted at either side by Luxa and the Trill doctor. Luxa looked over to Alyndra, she allowed a grateful smile. She was happy that they had a Trill doctor at hand, this may have been a lot more complicated without one.
Lorana: Okay Crewman. Try and get comfortable.
Syrex: Response
She moved towards the terminal beside the pool.
Lorana: I’ll control the modulator from here :: to Syrex :: You keep an eye on their vitals. Any sign of trouble, for any of them, then I’ll disconnect the frequency.
Syrex: Response
Luxa began to toggle through the frequency and watched Vylax carefully as her expression changed from neutral to slightly uncomfortable.
Lorana: Ensign?
Syrex: Response
Vylax: I … I can feel … Were connected, Lieutenant.
The crewman was struggling, her head had begun to jerk slightly and her body vibrated in the pool.
Lorana: Can we speak to the symbiont?
Syrex: Response
