MSNPC - Ru, The Child - To be a kid again

Whatever was going on it had affected Ru in a way he had not expected and to his delight, much like his partner in crime, Nelv's too. Ru had often wished he had been a kid again. Being an adult had its perks for sure and he, along with Nelv had taken advantage of many of those perks over the years but now, whatever was going on had reverted him and Nelv back to the age of being a child. At first it had been a bit disconcerting, but at the moment it was proving to be fun and while Ru might be one to worry about how to get back to his former adult self, it was absolutely the time to take advantage of this unique situation.

Rox:  Hey cut that out.  

Nelv:  Make me hot lips!

The volume level increased by the second as the formerly spartan medical facility quickly turned into some sort of alien menagerie.  One child had grabbed an osteopathic infuser off a nearby tool tray and was currently using it as a clumsy cudgel with which to assault another child as they ran and screamed and generally made a ruckus.  

De La Croix:  You put that down right now! That is not a toy!  

Ru: Who said?

The sound of a open palm impacting a buttock seemed to fill the bay and Ru jumped a good half- meter or more from the Doctor. 

Rox:  Hey!  

Nelv:  Yuk Yuk Yuk.  

De La Croix:  What is the meaning of this...this...pandemonium!?  You there...larger child....who are you?  Where did you come from?  

Ru: That's for me to know and you to find out.

Ru stuck out his tongue at the doctor and darted across the room to avoid her wrathful strike again. He rubbed his buttox where she had landed the first blow. 

Rox:  ::looking at La Croix::  This is different, but I'll be honest I'm not totally surprised.

De La Croix:  Is this crew in the habit of picking up...::she snatched a laser scalpel out of one child's hands as they went running past::...strays?!

Ru: ::Sounding mad:: Hey, we're not strays. We're victims of this whatch-a-ma-call-it.

Nelv/Rox:  Response

De La Croix:  Didn't the Captain mention something about wounded?  Other than being annoying none of these children appear to need medical aid.  

Ru grabbed a tricorder off a side table next to one of the bio-beds and flipped it open and aimed it at the doctor.

Ru: ::putting on a deep voice:: Female....Grumpy....old.....humorless....::looking up at Rox and then De La Croix:: I think she's broken.

Nelv/Rox:  Response

Thess looked at the woman with an expression that was somewhere between disbelieving and tragic acceptance and Ru started laughing as he then darted from one bio-bed to another and tried to stay out of arm's reach. 

De La Croix:  You must be joking.  What in the world am I supposed to do with them?  I suppose a round of sedatives would be completely out of the question?  I'm a Surgeon, not a Pediatrician!  

The statement caught Ru's ears and he slid to a halt before yelling to Nelv.

Ru: Nelv, catch.

Ru reeled back and threw the tricorder across the bay to Nelv and then turned and darted off again. He was having a blast being a kid again and this doctor was the perfect victim for his childish behavior.

Nelv/Rox:  Response

Ru ran around the room and darted in and behind Rox who was looking a little flustered with De La Croix but not the entire situation.

Ru: Hey cutie. ::beat:: If I were only 20 years older......

Ru saw the wicked witch lay eyes on him from across the room and he stopped mid-sentence and darted off again to another bio-bed and a monetary safety, out of the reach of the grumpy doctor.

Rox/De La Croix/Nelv: response 

Ru danced around the bio-bed as if he was trying to decide which direction to run when his eyes caught another side table with more Starfleet instruments on it. He darted towards the table and grabbed the first item he could. The device was not cool looking, it didn't look like anything fancy. It did however have one button on it. Just one. How boring he thought to himself as he held it up.

Ru: Hey, grumps - a - lot. What does this do?

Rox/De La Croix/Nelv: response 

Ru looked at the device. If she wasn't going to tell him then there was only one thing to do. Press the button. A devilish smile crossed his youthful face as the surgeon seemed to be charging across the room at him and he held the device up as it was a trophy.

Ru: Stop right there or I'll push the button. We'll all see what it does and that can't be good.

The doctor kept moving straight for Ru and that's when he decided to depress the button. ::beat, double beat:: Nothing, Just a low whining sound but nothing else. He looked at the device. How incredibly boring. Who would want to be a doctor and play with such boring things? He glanced up and saw she was almost on his and dropped the device and dove up the bio-bed just missing her reaching grasp.
