Jack's eyes shifted to Rox directly and he pressed his lips together giving her a look that said in no uncertain terms, oO You need to shut up Rox. Oo The very thought wanted to roll off his tongue and maybe he should have said it but elected to remain quiet at that moment.
Raga: Raga: I find that more than a little disturbing and disappointing if that’s the case. Chief, I think it’s time we beamed these two back on board to let them sober up.
Kessler: Aye sir. I can do that.
Rox: ::whiny:: No, don't beam us back let's have a walk on the beach.
Raga: After all this you want me to simply let you roam around and cause further disturbances?
Jack eyed Rox in amusement. She never disappointed, never. The Duchess on the other hand was something totally different.
De La Croix: Oh yes a walk on the beach at night sounds lovely! You can walk with us Commander...to keep us safe...from whatever dreadful sort of thing could be around...or you could just throw Beckie at it and give us time to make our escape!
Beck: ::sighing:: Some fresh air probably would do them some good. And I can call up to the ship to have them send down a hypo to sober these two up just a little. Some Purge will do nicely, though they'll have a helluva hangover to deal with.
Rox: ::looking with alarm at Beck:: No sir, you stay away from her. We're done with mustaches.
Beck: Let's just. ::indicating the door:: Yeah?
Raga: Very well, Doctor. I defer to your medical opinion. ::to Kessler:: Chief, I leave it up to you if you’d like to accompany us. I don’t want to keep you from enjoying your leave, or tending to your duties if you so choose.
Jack looked between Raga and Beck with somewhat of a surprised look he knew he should be trying to hide. The XO was giving in to them and going to let them take a stroll on the beach? Not exactly what Jack would have done but this was the XO's decision and Jack would respect it, even if he did not totally understand it.
De La Croix: Didn't you faint on the runabout...::she turned her attention back towards Rox::...He is cute though, he could come on our walk too.
oO She's just pushing buttons Jack. Let it slide. Oo
Kessler: I think I will tag along Commander. ::eyeing De La Croix:: After all, safety in numbers right?
Rox's attention span was about as long as the dangling earrings she wore and as she cut in, her comment of course changed the direction of the conversation very swifty.
Rox: How'd that get in there?
De La Croix gestured at the alien seafood fritter.
Beck: ::shaking his head:: Feels like junior year at Starfleet Medical all over again.
Raga: Reminds me of the six months I spent in Marine training. The quantity of alcohol that could be imbibed was practically a statistical wonder.
De La Croix: Do you remember when we got that bottle of absolutely dreadful Rom...Remala...Rostican...that glowing blue stuff and spent six hours arguing about the ethics of cybernetic organ replacement? Oh...hang on...
She dug something out of the arm of her dress and discovered a chunk of a very familiar looking seafood fritter. She gasped theatrically.
De La Croix: Goodness it seems like I may have been involved in the walk by fooding we experienced earlier...I'm sure in a merely self-defensive capacity, of course.
Kessler: Why am I not surprised?
Jack turned to Rox as she began laughing and De La croix laughed along with her as they staggered into the street and towards the nearby shimmering, glowing beaches. Following a few paces behind Jack just let a smirkish grin cross his face.
Rox: That's right you did! Some arm you have.
Beck: =/\= Beck to Sickbay. I need you to send down a medical kit with two doses of Purge and something for a hangover. =/\=
Nurse: =/\= Y–es, Doctor. I'll put that together for you now. =/\=
De La Croix: Think we should ditch them? There's a marvelous club a few streets over that serves a chowder dish that's simply divine and I am famished!
Kessler: The rumors of this one are going to be hard to snuff out Commander.
Rox: Response
Beck: ::with a snort:: I always wondered how rumors got started around here, now I know. ::to Rox:: It's always you. Why are you so obsessed with me?
Raga: I’m no counselor but I would imagine either loathing or infatuation.
oO Did De La Croix just snort? Mental note. Oo
De La Croix: In both my professional and personal opinion I'm quite certain it's loathing dear, but if you'd like to try embarrassing yourself I'm sure we'd all enjoy seeing that. I know I would.
Jack just remained silent. There was nothing constructive for him to add and De La Croix was just continuing to push buttons. Fortunately for her, Commander Raga was there. The thought of stunning her and dragging her back to the Ronin had passed through his mind a couple of times now.
Rox: Response
Beck: Let's let them walk it off just a little before I apply the Purge. They're gonna start cursing once the dehydration sets in.
Raga: Well, fortunately for them harsh language isn’t a punishable offense as long as it’s not insubordinate.
De La Croix: I'll have you know I have never once been insubordinate in my life and, to the best of my knowledge, neither has Roxanne here. Right?
Kessler: Then I would suggest you keep your golden track record spotless Doctor.
Rox/Beck: Response
Raga: Miss Queen. ::his timbre was slightly deeper than normal:: I think you’ve had enough. ::there was the briefest of pauses:: I expected better from you. ::to Quentin:: I think it’s time for those hyposprays.
Jack wasn't quite sure what De La Croix was playing at but she pressed her tongue to her lips and blew a loud, long and particularly contemptuous raspberry in their general direction.
De La Croix: ...and that's what I think about your hyposprays! Like anything good has ever come out of one of those little colored tubes! I think you need fifty cc's of mustache remover....right stat now!
Kessler: ::looking at Raga and tilting his head:: Seriously?
Rox/Beck: Response
Raga: That’s fine. ::he said to Quentin:: I think it’s time I had an explanation from both of them. I don’t care about cursing as long as I get a sober answer. Besides, it’s been a while since we’ve had anyone Vailani the mess hall.
De La Croix scowled as Beck pushed the hypo against her neck. The ever familiar hiss of the delivery system washed over his ears. The sound carried the knowledge that the drunken De La Croix would soon be replaced by the ever so fun sober De La Croix. Other than the slurring Jack was not sure that there was going to be much of a difference in the conversation ahead.
De La Croix: Fine way to ruin another evening, Beckie. I thought you'd be glad Roxanne and I had set our differences aside and found some common ground at last.
Kessler: When one resorts to childish acts of tantrum and fighting to resolve a difference, one does not get looked on favorably Doctor.
Rox/Beck/Raga: Response
De La Croix: How dare you suggest that the Duchess of Saint Malo...
Jack watched as the Doctor tried to rise to her feet just a bit too fast and an apparent of dizziness struck and she was forced to stumble towards a nearby potted plant, into which she purged half a bottle of champagne and whatever it was that she'd eaten for dinner several hours earlier. When she'd finished and regained some small measure of her composure, she turned and looked to the glaring men accompanying them. Jack looked to Beck and Raga and then back to the doctor as he clasped his hands in front of him, urging away the desire to let her sleep this off in the brig.
De La Croix: Perhaps we should skip the remainder of the evening stroll and have the rest of this conversation some other time. Or possibly never. Never would be fine. I find I've suddenly...taken a bit ill.
Kessler: Oh no Doctor. This conversation will happen. ::beat:: Like it or not you owe the Commander an explanation.
Rox/Beck/Raga/De La Croix: Response
Kessler: ::turning slightly to Rox and in a lower voice:: Krystal looks up to you and asks about you often. I would hope you will remember that you are an example to many.
Rox/Beck/Raga/De La Croix: Response
As the others spoke Jack listened but also kept his head on a swivel, eyeing other people who were eager to check out what was happening. Jack noted any different routes the two could take to try and break away from the Commander and his team. Although Beck had dosed them with a sobering medication Jack didn't put it past De La Croix to try something he deemed stupid. He did not know De La Croix at all, so trying to understand her was more complicated than trying to understand Rox.
Kessler: Commander, perhaps now is a good time to continue this conversation back on the ship. ::nodding to people walking nearby:: Out of the view of unwanted eyes.
Rox/Beck/Raga/De La Croix: Response
Kessler: Aye sir.
