((Ward A, Sickbay, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

At least everyone was contained. Wyla was thankfully not trapped behind a privacy field.

Rox:  Can either of you get the Privacy Fields down?

Avae: I can try, but then they’ll just get out again. We need to make sure they’re sorted first.

Ru: No sweetheart I can't figure it out but if you want to give me a clue....

De La Croix: Another word out of you and I will be replicating a bar of soap for you to wash your mouth out with!

Rox: How about the controls for the Alpha Wave inducer.  Maybe we could all have a nap.

Nelv: I don't want a nap!!

Avae: I don’t care! There are people you probably know in the next ward dying from radiation sickness and we can’t help them cause we’re in here dealing with you two.

Ru: Hold on Nelv, one of these stupid buttons has to release the fields.

De La Croix: You could slam your fingers against those controls until they were worn down to nubs and you still wouldn't get the fields down you little scoundrels!  Now I insist on being released right this instant!

Rox was in the middle of the room, while Wyla was on one side near a console. Which was sadly on the other side of the privacy field.

Rox:  This is going to be a really embarrassing call to the bridge.

Avae: No, wait. I have an idea. The privacy fields are basically containment fields. We can pump anesthezine gas into them and it’ll knock everyone inside them out for a few hours.

Ru: ::looking to Avae:: Hey!!! That's not very nice of you. Gassing children. I think there is law or something against that.

De La Croix:  Frankly I think it's a capital idea.  Then they can't object if I were to amputate anything...::She allowed the implication to hang heavily in the air for a few moments::...Out of strict medical necessity, of course.

Nelv: You can't do that!  We'll sue you for all you have.

Wyla looked at the two troublemakers with a stern look again.

Avae: Or we could just beam these two into the isolation chamber. The last plague I was exposed to should have been cleared out of it by now.

Another bluff, but she hoped it would help quiet those two. She was however self aware enough to realize the bubbly if very tall visage she had wasn’t the most intimidating.

Ru: Go ahead and try it. You just try and it and see who will RU - IN your day. ::beat, grinning:: That's right you, I will RU - IN your day.

One of the not actually children was laughing at that but Wyla wasn’t sure why, nothing humorous had been said.

De La Croix:  Well I was going to start by amputating your sense of humor but I can see someone has already beaten me to it.  By all means Nurse...I don't even care if the isolation chamber is sterile at this point.  I can fill out the appropriate death certificates in just a few minutes and, in this rare case, I may even enjoy myself.

Avae: Computer. Flood all enabled privacy fields with anesthezine gas, enough to safely render the occupants unconscious for twelve hours. Excluding medical personnel. Authorization Avae Six Two Nine Delta.

Computer: Authorization accepted.

A few moments later the soft hiss of gas being released signaled their release into the privacy fields. Since Rox and Wyla were not technically inside the fields they didn’t have to worry. And while it would have been amusing to knock out Thess, they had wounded people that needed tending to. Even if it meant making them suffer her. She just hoped that neither of the two goblins were a species resilient to anesthezine.

Ru: Nelv!!! ::grabbing his nose:: Don't breathe it in! Hold your breath.

For his part, Nelv put a hand over his nose, but continued to shout, taking gulps of air between each sentence.

Nelv:  We have access to the best attorney on Fereginar! ::inhale::  We have a psychologist who can say we're not right in the head!  ::inhale::  You guys are going to be in so much trouble!

De La Croix:  After they're inert we can get to work on the other patients...and we'll rose them...eventually.

Rox: ::looking at La Croix::  Did you say Roast?

Avae: I really hope not. ::she murmured::

Ru: ::still holding his nose:: Computer, stop gassing us. This is a violation of our.....::beat, getting light headed:: Computer, gassing children for no reason is wrong. You will be deprogrammed.

Wyla’s scowl was not as severe as Thess’ but she still shot one towards the ridiculous Ru.

De La Croix:  Perhaps we should tunnel our way out?  Don't these ships have all those little crawlways in them somewhere?  Jeff's tubes or some such? ::She looked around and sighed in profound annoyance:: What a preposterous predicament.

Rox:  ::setting down::  Good alliteration boss.

Avae: Also, might I point out that none of you are actual children. Your bodies were just de-aged. So

Ru: Take that you mean ad.......

There were sparks suddenly and a trove of isolinear chips flew across the room. And Wyla found herself pondering whether they should leave these two stuck as infants so they could physically match their mental capabilities.

De La Croix:  We've got about thirty seconds before we're insensate.  Can either of you load a hypo with ADTH in it?  That'll counteract the anestezine.  There's nothing in here I can use as a stimulant.

Rox:  I'm trying.

Avae: I’m not near any of the medications.

Rox crawled slowly across the floor.  Wyla watched patiently as she got a hypo and loaded it up, then crawled towards her. Antosian metabolism made anesthesia difficult. So she wasn’t worried about succumbing to the effects herself for the moment. At least long enough for Rox to get to her. Still, she felt the press and hiss of the hypo in her neck and took the hypo.

Rox:  Take this to her highness over there.

De La Croix:  Need...a...filter...or...patients...will...die...

She heard Rox giggling as the fields dropped all around the room. Then the lights and systems all around abruptly flickered and she saw an entire biomonitor in the room above one of the unoccupied beds suddenly ignite. Half shattering, half burning as some sort of power surge struck the ship.

Avae: Hang on, Thess! Stars, please tell me we’re not being attacked.

She rushed to the pompous princess’ side, practically skidding to her knees so she could press the hypo to her neck. The soft hissed heralded the administration of the counteracting medication and she looked between them as the environmental systems purged the room and refilled it with fresh air. On the plus side, the fields were all down.

De La Croix:  Response

Avae: Oh, no. No sleeping. Something just caused a power surge that’s affecting Sickbay’s systems. We need to help those people in Ward A.

De La Croix:  Response

Avae: Well, I’d rather have a fully functioning Sickbay, but since we don’t you’ll have to do. I’ll grab Rox.

Wyla rushed over to Rox’s side and carefully picked her up enough until she could carry her with an arm around her shoulder. The plus side of doing so many pit fights was that she was actually a little stronger than she had been.

De La Croix: Response

Wyla helped Rox into the rest of Sickbay and saw the group of rescued personnel from the research facility. Half of the biobeds they were on were malfunctioning and she noted only the emergency lighting was illuminating the room aside from what consoles still worked.

Avae: Oh, for Star’s sake. ::to Thess:: Torches are in the Twibble cabinet.

De La Croix:  Response
