Uncharacteristically quiet, Hallia placed herself at the back of the crowd — casually observing. She did her best to build up whatever energy she had, with the aching feeling she would probably need it. Her body jittered with the shot of caffeine Hallia had drank prior, hoping it would give her maybe just a bit of an edge. The buzz was like a warmth in the top of her chest — however she did find some difficulty to completely sit still during Lieutenant Sherlock’s theory. But once the demonstration kicked off, Hallia was instantly fixed. She mentally noted every gesture, movement and dodge from the human, bobbing her head along as each jab was exchanged in the one way transaction.

Eren’s punches became quicker and quicker as Aine constantly tried to get a rise out of him. Eventually, the Lieutenant’s instincts became too quick for Hallia to keep up with. She moved so quickly the Yelikan could feel her head spinning from the mix of blue and pinkish flesh tones blurring through the air. Hallia had zero idea what was happening, but for one thing she was instantly captivated, it looked incredibly fun to watch that. But perhaps that was only a natural response when every sibling she knew growing up knew how to rough house. Although it wasn’t quite the same with the lack of kicks to the gut and spur of the moment headbutts.

But before too long, the demonstration was over.

Sherlock: Good! Stand down for now, Crewman. So, as you see, the motions I had you go through are

applicable actions. And this applies to the first principle: draw your opponent in. By not attacking outright, and allowing them to feel they are dominating the fight, you bring them in closer and closer. Ok, ::clapping her hands:: lets pair off. Take turns, one of you attacks for a few punches, while the other

defends, then switch. Meidra, why don't you and Crewman Hamsan pair up.

Sirin: A splendid idea.

Hamsan:  You want me to do ::gestures to the Andorian:: that... to ::gestures to Meidra:: her?

Sherlock: It'll be fun. ::giving them a wink::

Hallia looked and looked for a willing partner before locking eyes with a particular hulking mass of scales and what looked like reptile skin. Two eyes bulged out of each side of the crocodile like skull — Hallia was simply amazed, even looking at the mass that had been obscured by clothing, she was smiling. From that point on she knew what opponent she wanted.

Yellir: ::quickly approaching him:: Could we be partners? I think that’d be SO exciting!

He took a moment to respond. Hallia was entirely enamoured and fascinated by such an intriguing combination of reptilian and humanoid-bipedal characteristics. They let out a soft growl, barring the rows of thorn like fangs in what Hallia couldn’t tell was a grin or a scowl. She wished she’d had a PADD on her. He took a moment before answering, seeming to be sizing up Hallia’s tiny stature compared to his own towering figure.

Finally he answered

Lozes: Sure.

Hallia clapped enthusiastically.

Yellir: Did you wanna go first? I’d be happy to go second.

Lozes gave another neutral expression of showing off his impressive teeth.

Lozes: I’d be happy too. Just let me know if you want to slow down.

Hallia: Please go as hard as you wish, I’m content with whatever you want to do.

Hallia squared up, raising her fists close to her face. Not for one second losing the grin she had practically glued to her face. Yelikans were known for their flexibility and the inherent looseness in their muscles, albeit they weren’t too strong or durable, but it allowed more movement with less of an energy tax. She nodded, signalling she was ready and in an instant, a green, scally fist rushed past her head as Hallia narrowly moved out of the way.

Lozes started off strong. He came inches to knocking Hallia to her backside before she weaved herself away from the blow. His gaze was nothing but pure focus as the Yelikan continued to ride the chemical cocktail of sugar, adrenaline and caffeine to some kind of success at first. But… as the seconds ticked past, his blows grew faster, fiercer and stronger. Even with a simple skim against her arm she could feel the force behind every punch. But finally, there was a sharp pain in Hallia’s shoulder that sent her plummeting like a sack of bricks to the floor.

She picked herself up, despite being knocked down, Hallia was still smiling. She was having an absolute blast. This whole fighting thing felt like such a fun and exciting game to her. Lozes’ expression seemed to slightly border on concern seeing her basically stand up and still be smiling after being knocked down by a single punch. Hallia quickly tried to catch her breath and roll her shoulder, certain she hadn’t broken anything, she squared up and nodded. Lozes returning the nod.

With every bit of miniature energy Hallia had in her body, she started off slow with her punches, but with each blow she upped her speed and the power behind each jab. She jabbed as hard as she could, striking the air around the Gorn for a good while. Hallia couldn’t seem to hit anything for the longest time until finally, she landed a hit in Lozes solid abdomen. Pumping her fist in the air, she celebrated before continuing her assault.

The pair switched and switched time and time again. Hallia each round getting one or two more bruises than the other, but keeping the same enthusiasm and energy after each knockdown. The Gorn and the Yelikan kept going until their instructor had called for everyone’s attention.

Feeling the exertion burn all over her muscles and bones, she turned to face Aine.

Sherlock: Ok, everyone. So, principle two, I left it out hoping experience was the teacher. Endure. In a fight, rarely, will things go your way. Rarely will you not get hit or hurt. Learning to take the hit and keep going is just as important as dealing damage. Crewman Dwich was a perfect example. Knocked on his ass twice, got back up and endured. Good job, Crewman. ::nodding to Dwich:: The last two principles will

be combined into one. Crewman Eren, if you will.

Eren returned to the front of the class again. He shook the Lieutenant's hand again.

Sherlock: This time, I want everything you've got.

oO Is he going to get the snot beat out of him? Oo
