((Bridge, USS Columbia))

The commanding officer of the USS Columbia had been nice enough to invite her, and any of the senior staff that was interested, to the bridge as they arrived. Standing at the back, Kali watched as they approached. It was almost bittersweet, as generally she would be aboard her own bridge, limping home and steeling herself for the dressing down she was about to get from Fleet Captain Rainier. This time, however, was going to be different.

And if it weren't for the orders of Starfleet Command, and it was up to the Selelvian flag officer, she was fairly certain that none of them would be allowed on a starship again. For the first time ever, she found herself thankful for the orders she'd received.

As the typical procedures played out around her, Kali eyed the ships around the dock. The Columbia slipped silently past a number of big names. The Gemini and the Excalibur both remained, and she wondered if it was on account of their using them for leave or if they had been permanently reassigned. Then, not much further, the Drake sat in opposition, as if fighting the waves of the future and that which otherwise made it the old one of the group. She demanded respect for the scars she bore, despite the newer, more advanced options out there. That crew knew of the love of a ship, to be sure.

The Sovereign class Discovery-C had arrived at some point in their absence, and it sat next to the impressive Caledonia, a Promethius class ship with four nacelles that made it quite a different beast than the rest of them out there. An intrepid class slipped by as Kali looked to the right, though she didn't catch if it was the Victory, the Eagle, or another.

So many ships...

The possibilities occupied her brain and she missed most of the docking procedures, coming to only when the captain spoke to her about disembarking. Thanking him, Kali nodded and sent the message to her crew. They would remain at 224 for a day until their orders were finalized. Then...the future was theirs once again.

Perhaps Rainier wouldn't be so angry after all...

((Timeskip, Captain's Office, Command Center, Deep Space 224))

Cascadia Rainier was not a difficult or demanding person, despite the strange relationship Kali had with her which mostly consisted of asking for repairs on her broken ship. This time, their meeting had been far more somber, without requests and with plenty of offers. One included the use of the office the raven-haired command officer now stood in, as she looked at her first and second officers. Not quite willing to sit in Rainier's chair, she leaned against the side of the desk nearest her fellow officers and handed off a padd.

Nicholotti: The results of the investigation, which I'm sure you've already seen.

Adea/MacKenzie: Responses?

Her eyes met Genkos', he'd told her the man would be alright and it seemed he wasn't wrong, but there was something that still needed to be addressed. While his culpability had been limited, there was still the issue of excessive violence. They all needed to rely on the fact that he, and others, would remain cool under pressure, should the chaos of trouble come knocking at their doorstep again. And oh, how she knew it would come.

It always did.

Kali looked at them both. She wasn't there, nor was Addison, but they both had their opinions of course. What she was really interested in, was hearing what Genkos thought. He had some command experience now, and he had been there. Her crystalline eyes moved towards him before glancing back at Addison.

Nicholotti: What are your thoughts?

Adea/MacKenzie: Responses?

With the investigation stating that he likely had little to do with the actual course that destroyed the Resolution, and the only charge really worth much being that of excessive violence or force, Kali didn't feel the need to come down like a hammer. There was no evidence of premeditation or the idea that he set off to be violent. On the contrary, from what she'd read, he had felt incredibly threatened. The fact remained that violence was a tricky prospect and nothing like this needed to ever happen again. How to do that...Kali wasn't sure, but another demotion probably wasn't going to get the desired results.

Nicholotti: He needs to realize a few things. ::She paused a moment.:: Why do you really think he did it?

Adea/MacKenzie: Responses?
