((Outside Da’al Government Complex))

MacKenzie: You can check, but be discreet.

Melody gave the Commander a curt nod, her eyes darted back and forth from the group of Klingons, breathing in a huff of air before quickly returning her gaze to Commander MacKenzie. Perhaps this wasn’t the best day to be wearing a skirt, perhaps hand to hand combat was proving to be more of an issue than one thought.

Delri’ise: I’ll keep an eye on ‘em.

Hearing the crunch of gravel beneath their feet, Melody came to a brief stop, skidding in place ever so slightly as she turned her head. A cacophony of grinding pebbles rang through her mind as she looked each and every Klingon up and down. It was the standard palette of shades of grey, thick leather hides and metallic sheens that shimmered in the harshened sunlight. If it weren’t for the surrounding greenery, one might think they were in a classical noir movie.

She shot a domineering glance over the group, picking apart their appearances as if scanning for some weakness that may have yet to appear. Her chest rumbled slightly, only just realising the numerical and physical difference between the two groups.

Zeneth: Please remember this is a friendly meeting. Any show of weapons will be considered an act of aggression. We do not tolerate such things.

Kehtyreh: Of course not. We are not children, we heard you the first time.

MacKenzie: Very good, let’s proceed.

Kehtyreh: Yes. Let’s.

Once again, MacKenzie addressed the group in a hushed tone.

MacKenzie: Something is very, very wrong here. Keep your wits about you.

Sirin: I believe a calm approach will best serve our needs.

Delri’ise: We may not have that option, if push comes to shove. Keep close to an exit, in case we need to make a run for it.

Zicv: Response

((Da’al Government Complex, Prime Minister’s Office))

The two teams were led through the winding corridors of the government complex. Meters upon meters of drab walls with few windows, plants, or any decorations at all. Yet, Melody found the odd flecks of colour in the walls very strange, as if they were made from granite, but glimmered like they held nuggets of tiny diamonds. The walk was… silent, to say the least, the awkward-sound of tapping shoes echoed in the empty halls, failing to fill the void of pointed silence between the two groups. It was quite easy to tell that neither of them liked one another.

As they walked, Melody tapped on her commbadge, managing to grunt out the words “Delri’ise to Transporter Room” under her breath. Nothing. She tried again, a little louder this time. No response. Her face went visibly pale. On approach to the prime minister’s office, she reluctantly followed her team, drawing ever so closer to MacKenzie in hopes to deliver the news. Upon reading the room, Melody could tell they clearly weren’t welcome. The shift in mood was almost uncomfortable for an empath like her, it was as if she could feel the tension wafting over her like a wave of sickness. As if one were to feel a migraine coming on.

Ypartin: Response

Kehtyreh: The Empire welcomes you to the fold, brethren.

oO This ain’t good. Oo

Sirin: ::in a low voice to MacKenzie:: Be prepared for a swift violence.

MacKenzie: Lieutenant?

oO Don’t need to tell me twice. Oo
Simply one word was enough to prompt Melody to keep an eye and an ear out.

Delri’ise: I’m on it. Also, comms are out of the question.

Zeneth: What have you done, Ypartin?

Ypartin: Response

Kehtyreh: He did what was required.

Straightening her gloves, Melody eyed Kehtyreh as she reached for her belt. Rubbing her stomach, she copied the Klingon’s motions, eyeing the others, she hovered her hand over her phaser. Trying her best to discreetly prepare for some kind of movement on their part. Melody’s ears twitched, hearing a sharpened hiss, she placed a hand on her phaser.

Ypartin: Response?

Zeneth: Response?

MacKenzie: Advisor Zeneth, whatever is happening here, I’m sure was can resolve it without resorting to violence…

Drawing her phaser, Melody pointed the nozzle of the weapon towards the leader of the Klingon landing party. Resting her thumb against the trigger button, she held her arm strong, outstretching her elbow as if preparing to hit her mark.

Delri’ise: Don’t try it, sunshine. ::Melody narrowed her eyes, spinning her statement with her signature snarky tone.::

Melody pointed the weapon towards Kehtyreh, the rush of blood to her head sent the blonde spinning momentarily. Drawing a sharp breath, she took aim to the woman’s side as a shot of adrenaline sent her body into overdrive.

Zicv/Sirin: Responses?

Delri’ise: ::In a hushed tone:: Stay close to the exit.

MacKenzie/Ypartin/Any: Response?

Delri’ise: I’m sure we can talk this out, maybe we can actually talk instead of thinkin’ with our phasers first?
