((Arboretum, Deck 224, Deep Space 224))
Aine had never before visited the Arboretum on Deep Space 224. She could appreciate the beauty of nature but she preferred to challenge it than to just observe it. Guess that was more the Security Officer in her rather than a botanist. She figured she'd better get to know 224 a little better. Almost all her previous time had been spent on the promenade either eating or drinking, and she wasn't much one for holodecks save for training purposes.
As she walked along one of the pathways, she was impressed how the technicians were able to make an arboretum in space feel like you were on an actual planet. Thinking about all the support systems to achieve something like this was near overwhelming, but in a good way. She even wondered if the soil was replicated or they'd brought it in from the surface of a planet. And if it was from a planet, which one? This was a spiral she could appreciate.
It wasn't long before she noticed a diminutive redhead, off the path, looking at some flowers.
Sherlock: Meidra. Everything okay?
The Counselor appeared deep in thought. She didn't even turn around, only acknowledging Aine vocally.
Sirin: Just looking for a bit of home, I suppose.
An all too familiar sentiment.
Sherlock: I understand.
Meidra turned to smile at her friend. They hadn't spent much time together on Risa, save for their typical (maybe even a little moreso) night of mayhem on Risa.
Sirin: I promise you, I’m far from depressed. Just, trying to remind myself that while there are endings, nothing ever truly is gone. Or, something. I was going to take a walk around the promenade and just contemplate my place in the universe, but perhaps it would be more enjoyable with a friend. Care to join me?
Sherlock: Sounds perfect.
Aine gave her friend a smile, and off they went.
