((Command Bridge, Captain’s Room, Warbird Targ))
Captain Kris: Blood Wine?
Kehtyreh: Yes, of course
Sitting done at the head of the rectangular table that dominated the room I gestured for the general to take a seat her self. My battle trophies lined the walls and I thought for a second of showing off the prize of my collection a small collection of Jem’hadar feeding tubes. But thought better of it, instead deciding to offer a bit of foray before diving into the battle plans.
Captain Kris: So tell me general, what do you think of the Targ?
Kehtyreh: It serves its purpose.
The Targ serves its purpose….that was an under statement. The Targ was a well above average warbird and few could match my ships battle record. Hell few could match my battle record, but not many were as lucky as I was when It came to surviving particularly harsh battles. Though I suppose I could see how limited her view was only having a taste for planetary combat, and she might even have meant it as a compliment.
Captain Kris: Hhhmm….I suppose that is one version.
Kehtyreh: About our shared goals...
The good General took on a more serious note and the intensity of eyes showed in a new light. No doubt she was attempting to woo me, little good it would do her. I was more scared of my wife than I ever would be the general, she would challenge the general to a duel regardless of rank.
Captain Kris: I was wondering about that, what specifically did you wish to address?
Kehtyreh: There is to be no undermining of these orders. There will be no bloodshed unless I order it. You can hunt all you want, and toy with the response, but no slitting of throats until I permit it.
Captain Kris: I don’t expect any meaningful resistance from these Da’ala or what ever they are called so that should not be a problem. But keep in mind any harm that is inflicted upon the Targ or her crew will be repaid in kind. If all goes to plan this should take no more than a few hours, a simple victory for the Empire.
Kehtyreh: We have solid claim to the system anyways, but there is always a game to be played with the Federation, especially when our kin are involved.
Kin? The generals wording was strange, but if the context was correct that meant that this system was Empires by blood right and these Da’al were trespassers. And error that would be quickly rectified if it proved true. Then there was the mention of the Federation, those meddlesome do gooders would complicate things. This wasn’t going to be as simple as I had expected if they were involved.
Captain Kris: And just how are our….Kin involved?
Kehtyreh: It is distant. Very, very much so, but solid enough to make the system rightfully Klingon and for us to understand how.
Captain Kris: So this is more than just simple expansion, it is a rightful claim of lost heritage. That would explain how you procured one empires finest vessels. Any names of our shared history involved that I would know?
Kehtyreh: Response
Captain Kris: And you expect these trespassers to agree to these terms? If the Federation is involved it will no doubt bolster a foolish sense of confidence that they can hid behind words.
Kehtyreh: Response
