((Holodeck 2 – USS Resolution))
After finishing up on the bridge and seeing that the ship was safely on her way, the operations officer closed down her station and headed for the holodeck. She had been playing with the idea of a system simulator for a while and this was a perfect opportunity to try it out.
As she came around the corner, the ship’s doctor straightened up, tugging his shirt into place.
Adea: Greetings Ensign.
She nodded a greeting.
zh’Vranni: Doctor.
Adea: So, you had something to show me?
zh’Vranni: Yes, certainly.
Shara tapped the holodeck controls and brought up her program, then waited for the commander to go in and followed him in.
zh’Vranni: I
figured if we could be hands-on with this, we mght be able to see something we’d
miss otherwise. Computer, load the Meranuge system into the simulator.
There was a bleep and the holodeck changed into the black depths of space. In
the center was an unremarkable F5 star, similar structurally to Procyon, her
own home system, though with only 6 planets, including one, the fifth, that
rotated in the wrong direction.
zh’Vranni: What do you think?
Adea: I have to admit, I’m intrigued.
Shara smiled.
zh’Vranni: So,
what do we need to do?
Adea: response…
zh’Vranni: Computer, zoom in on the fourth planet.
The simulation wooshed in, giving the Andorian a touch of vertigo as it did.
zh’Vranni: Ugh… I did not expect that.
Adea: response…
