((Arboretum, Deck 224, Deep Space 224))
The doors swooshed open, allowing a small shadow to cross the threshold. Their movements were precise, silent, and quick. The figure moved past specimens from various planets that had been visited by StarFleet over the years, until finally stopping in front of a lone Bajoran lilac that had been grown from a gift received during a better time.
Meidra didn’t know why she’d sent a cutting to the station’s arboretum months ago, but they’d accepted it as the gift it was, and planted it there, for all to enjoy. The deep purple flowers brought to mind a summer’s twilight, and it brought her a measure of peace to know that not everything from Resolution had been destroyed.
A voice from behind her startled her, but she had been expecting it.
Sherlock: response
She didn’t turn around, choosing to continue staring at the lone flower surrounded by various specimens from other worlds. It stood out somehow, a reminder that the spirit remained, even if the physical ship was gone.
Sirin: Just looking for a bit of home, I suppose.
Sherlock: response
Meidra turned to smile at her friend. They hadn’t really had much of a chance to speak since their night out on Risa, and it was nice to see a friendly face.
Sirin: I promise you, I’m far from depressed. Just, trying to remind myself that while there are endings, nothing ever truly is gone. Or, something. I was going to take a walk around the promenade and just contemplate my place in the universe, but perhaps it would be more enjoyable with a friend. Care to join me?
