(( Operations Center, Deck 5, USS 'Oumuamua ))
Herrick: =/\= Herrick here, it's go time. =/\=
S. Sherlock: =/\= We're gaining access now. =/\=
Rouiancet: =/\= This is Rouiancet. Standing by with support as needed. =/\=
They were clear of the shuttle bay now and headed towards the mission pod. Toxin no longer was surprised by the masterful maneuvers of his roommate, but he would always be impressed how he deftly avoided the shrapnel that was blown off from the EPS explosions and now floating towards and around their shuttle. It seemed Lhandon’s fingers gracefully waltzed across the control panel firing the maneuvering thrusters back and forth.
Arlill: =/\= Thank you commander. =/\=
Nilsen: =/\= Thunderbird 1 is in the air. I’m going to fly as close to the pod as I can and for his next trick, Tox is going to beam you out. ::To Toxin: I’m going to try and get as close to ‘em as I can. Which means, under.=/\=
This wasn’t Toxin’s first rodeo, he’d performed plenty of transporter ops, he had a knack for transporters ever since he’d started working on his own version of a long range transporter discovered by the USS Voyager. But this situation was a bit tricky, there was organic and non organic debris everywhere, the transporters were picking up on the damaged bio packs as well as human life signs, throwing off the targeting sensors. Toxin was going to have to do this manually in a shuttle that wasn’t standing still with a ship on the verge of destruction only meters away. oO You got this. Oo
Arlill: ::looking at Lhandon:: try to keep her steady. =/\= Ok Herrick, we’re ready =/\=
Herrick: =/\= Computer, override pod release lockout, authorization Herrick-Gamma-One.
Computer: =/\= Authorization Denied. =/\=
Herrick: =/\= Er… Authorization Herrick-Beta-Two? Recent promotion…still sinking in. =/\=
Computer: =/\= Authorization Granted. Proceed when ready. =/\=
S. Sherlock: ::s=/\= Ok. We're ready now. =/\=
Rouiancet: =/\= Still looking acceptable from down here, but hurry, please. =/\=
Nilsen: =/\= We’re in position, right under you. =/\=
Arlill: =/\= I can confirm, looks like we have separation. =/\=
Toxin was feeling pretty confident, like this was textbook, but that always worried him, when things seemed to perform to well.
S. Sherlock:: =/\= I think it worked! =/\=
Nilsen =/\= Yeah, that’s floating. =/\=
Rouiancet: =/\= Confirmed. Separation has occurred. =/\=
Toxin was about the breath a sigh of relief when the shuttle jolted sideways, his eyes immediately went to the external sensors, they indicated a space of atmosphere had just released and pushed the shuttle away from one of the struts and towards the other one, Toxin couldn’t focus on the shuttle’s position, he trusted Lhandon to handle it, which he did. His roomy quickly repositioned the shuttle, just in time for him to have beamed over the panel from the release that Herrick had just used to break the mission pod loose.
Arlill: =/\= Ok, looks like the practice beam out worked (beat) ::looking at Lhandon with a “oops” expression:: Let’s try that again.
Herrick: response
S. Sherlock: =/\= Ummm ::beat:: not to make anyone worry, but, uh, we're still in the pod. =/\=
Nilsen: =/\= Standby, we’re working on it. =/\=
Arlill : =/\= I have to reset the targeting system, it’s attempting to auto lock and won’t release the locks once captured. =/\=
S. Sherlock: =/\= Oh! Ok! Um, do we have to do anything? =/\=
Nilsen: =/\= Nothing for you too do Sit tight, your flight will begin boarding soon, please present your booking passes =/\=
Arlill: =/\= I got it! Stand by. =/\=
The system wouldn’t reboot, so Toxin took the next best option, he disabled the targeting safeties and prayed he didn’t beam out a live eps conduit at the same time as his friend and their colleague. He targeted the general space they were in and initiated the beam out. If he could turn white anyone looking might see that complexion at this point. His heart felt like it stopped for a complete minute, but in reality it was only a few seconds.
No luck, a section of deck plating appeared in the rear of the shuttle, of which he quickly beamed out into space, well away from the shuttle. His fear and anxiety was quickly being exchanged for frustration and annoyance.
Herrick/Rouiancet: =/\= response =/\=
Nilsen: =/\= Yo, Sherlock right, you’re Aine’s sister? :laughs: What’s the best way to annoy her? =/\=
Herrick/Rouiancet/Sherlock: =/\= response =/\=
Nilsen: =/\= ::to Tox:: Trust me bro, tractor the pod. It should increase the signal strength and, keep us relative to the pod, like a train. ::To everyone else:: I’ve had an idea, Commander, How long we got until the pod's destroyed? =/\=
Arlill: =/\= Do it! =/\=
Herrick/Rouiancet/Sherlock: =/\= response =/\=
Nilsen =/\= That’s not enough time when it blows it’s taking half the ship. I’m flying now. The tractor beam is holding. Sorry for the bumpy ride, we’re working on getting ya out.=/\=
Herrick/Rouiancet/Sherlock: =/\= response =/\=
Toxin was picking up multiple atmospheric leaks near the section the two were in, he tried one more time before they were without air and….. yes…. yes! It was successful, he looked back in the shuttle and both stood there. The transport had been successful and the new Sherlock and Herrick were on board.
Arlill: =/\= I got them! =/\=
Nilsen =/\= I can’t pitch up. it’s weighing me down. I’m going to have to go with it. New heading. 000 mark 010. Straight on =/\=
Toxin realized they weren’t out of danger yet, Nilsen was going to need help if they were going to make it out safely.
Herrick/Rouiancet/Sherlock: =/\= response =/\=
Toxin could tell his roomie was in his head again, he was a good pilot, but his doubt was starting to creep in and Toxin knew he needed to lend a hand now that the transport operations were complete. He remembered that the mission pod still had multiple compartments still containing atmosphere, including the turbo lift shafts in each strut.
Arlill: =/\= Commander, can you pull up a remote connection to the mission pod and override the airlocks on the turbo life shafts? =/\=
He could tell that Lhandon knew exactly what he was getting at, which was only confirmed when the ensign quickly pitched the shuttle up and activated it’s atmospheric landing trusters on the bottom for a better boost.
Nilsen/Herrick/Rouiancet/Sherlock: =/\= response =/\=
They would have to time this correctly, too early and it could hit the docking pylon or worse, fly back and hit the nacelles, no this had to be timed right.
Arlill: =/\= Wait for it (beat) wait for it. (beat) ::looking at Nilsen, who gave him a head nod:: NOW! =/\=
Toxin felt the shuttle pitch up and knew the airlocks had to have been opened because they were gaining vertical momentum away from the ship. Toxin made contact with Lhandon and just started smiling then laughing.
Nilsen/Herrick/Rouiancet/Sherlock: =/\= response =/\=
Just remembering that the Commander wasn’t in the shuttle with them.
Arlill: =/\= Yes commander, it appears to have worked, well done. =/\=
