((Grove of Trees above Glyrshar Canyon, Bajor))
The man was clearly hostile. Giving up peacefully likely wasn't in his vocabulary considering his only response was to shoot at them. Aine had no clue who these people were, how many there were, and more importantly, why they were there attacking Starfleet Officers. The situation was already bad enough given that Commander Peri had called for help, but the fact Iljor was not heard from made it worse.
Promontory: He’s on the run!
Sherlock: Move! Get across the river and flank him! I've got you covered!
She began laying down a steady stream of fire at and above the rock the man was hiding behind to keep his head down.
Tuv (goon): ::turning to see Avander, raising both his voice and weapon:: You and that abomination are going to pay!
Aine had watched the pair, under her cover fire, move up on the man and heard him shout something about an abomination. It made no sense to her, what was he talking about. She'd kept her sights on the cover he was behind and it wasn't but a split second between his words and the Engineer shooting him. She lowered the muzzle of her rifle and visually scanned the area to make sure they were clear.
She stood, rifle at a low ready, and made her way over to the pair of other officers.
Promontory: (looking closer at Josh’s handiwork) I suppose that’s a fair and balanced response to him insulting Peri…
Sherlock: ::half jokingly:: Not sure the rules of engagement will cover him for that one.
Herrick: I figured shoot first, die later?
Promontory: Sound logic; works for me. (beat) But it might’ve been nice to integrate him…
Aine grinned and shook her head. She was more of the shoot first, ask questions later type. And it wasn't like Herrick had killed the man.
Sherlock: It's fine. But what next?
The junior lieutenant began looking off in the distance and seemed to have noticed something. When Aine turned, she would see it glinting.
Herrick: I think I see part of her transport ::cupping his hands around his mouth:: Commander Peri, are you there?
Promontory: (under his breath) What did you do to my ship!?
Aine shook her head again. She'd heard other crew members of the 'Oumuamua say seemingly affectionate things about various craft onboard. She didn't get it. Shuttles, to her, were disposable. But the pondering didn't last long as they began receiving more incoming fire.
Calamir (goon): You will hand both to us… now!. ::firing out several rounds in succession between Avander and Josh’s feet, significantly more deftly than his companion:: Or, you will die.
Sherlock: Cover me!
Promontory: On it!
Sherlock: On me, Lieutenant!
Herrick: Response
Aine began to close the distance as fast as she could, the grip on her rifle tightened. She was sure Herrick could keep up with her but she moved as if she were alone as she didn't have time to waste.
Promontory: Remember, we want him alive and awake for questioning. (beat) If possible!
As she sprinted along, she pointed to a spot of cover that Herrick could use.
Sherlock: There! Cover me!
Herrick: Response
With the fire incoming from the two others, Aine kept up the pace until she had a clear shot around the assailant's cover. She dropped down to a knee behind some rocks that wouldn't be tall enough to save her if she'd been noticed, but was confident she hadn't been seen as he was forced to keep his head down lest he lose it.
She leveled her rifle, sights resting center mass, her finger tightened on the trigger. The sudden burst of light and sizzle of energy sped away from her until it collided with the man.
Promontory: Nicely done! (beat) Now let's go see if the Glider can offer any helpful clues!
Silently, Aine stood again and the trio began moving towards the Gamma Glider. She let the pair begin their investigation. Carefully as they did, she kept an overwatch while also looking for clues.
Sherlock: Find anything?
Herrick/Promontory: Response
Sherlock: Tracks. Lots of them. Which tells me there was a quick pursuit.
Herrick/Promontory: response
Sherlock: It's all we've got to go on right now
Herrick/Promontory: response
