(( Lhandon and Toxin’s Quarters, Deck 7, USS ‘Oumuamua ))

As Lhandon had shown his new medal, Toxin had stood up. Perhaps out of respect, or just in that moment, with both of them standing in front of each other, it had simply felt like the right thing to do.

Nilsen: There was something else bro, erm...I did that thing again, ::taps head:: you know that thing: And I ruined that moment. But...they also gave me this. I don't know how I earned these…I just...Would you? Do it for me?

Lhandon had seen Toxin light up like Blackpool Illuminations when he showed his broroomy the hollow pip. Toxin had known what to do, and a second chance to make this a good day had been seized.

Arlill: You know you earned this, you stopped doubting yourself long enough to find your courage and stand up and stand out. I wish I had been there and not on the planet, but from what I’ve heard you earned this rank and I have no doubt you will wear it with pride.

Toxin was right. When Lhandon was on the mission, faced with those "ghosts" that turned out to be the people of Alpha Brenkelvi II, he hadn't doubted for a single second that he was right, at least not in the moment.

And it turned out to be the right thing to do.

The doubts creeped in afterwards. Then the second guessing came along.

Then he had seen Toxin snap to attention and unconsciously, Lhandon's back had strengthened as well. His head had gone up and Toxin had spoken again.

Arlill: Congratulations Lieutenant, it’s well deserved. (beat) Good job broroomy. :: pausing then lunging forward and giving the big lug a huge hug. ::

He had felt, for the first time, pride, or at least something akin to that. Toxin had hugged him and Lhandon had hugged back. They had held tight and Lhandon's arms had wrapped around Toxin, his hands almost squeezing Toxin’s shoulders.

Nilsen: Thanks…thanks, I love you Big Broroomy. You’re the best.

That hug, though, was more than one best friend congratulating another. The entire interaction, if he were to look back, was a line drawn in the sand. A moment where some of the former worries seemed to slip away, and while his issues would not disappear overnight, he knew now that there were people who cared for him, and he cared for those same people.

[End of Scene for Lhandon]

((OOC: Erik, you’re too kind to me. Toxin is the best character to go opposite mine, everything you do just seems to click with what I do. You call him a dynamic and beautiful character, I call him a manic depressive chaos goblin.))
