(( Glyrshar Canyon, Bajor ))

And so, Tersor Jayro, or Jay for short, turned around and headed back in the direction of his monastery. He made it clear where he was going. He didn't walk too quickly but at a pace that let Etan know that he needed to help himself in this situation.

He then briefly turned around to address Etan.

Tersor: Or…you can follow me if you wish

It was a genuine offer. The commander looked around, searching for something before a challenge.

Etan: Yalar’s New Insights: what is her third prophecy?

Tersor: The third prophecy of Yalar speaks of a time of great upheaval, where the old will give way to the new. It is a time of change and transition, and it is said that those who are able to adapt and embrace the change will thrive, while those who resist will face hardship.

Etan accepted the answer and lowered his phaser.

Etan: Alright, I believe you. :: he said finally.:: I’ll accompany you.

Tersor smiled and gestured for Etan to join him. They had walked a short distance before Jay had felt it appropriate to ask how Etan had ended up in this situation.

Tersor: I must ask, how did you end up in this situation?

Etan: Our runabout was brought down by extremists. ::he paused.:: The Ohalavaru. My friend and I… we were on our way to Vanadwan to deliver an O- ::he caught himself, and quickly corrected himself.:: -something to the clerics.

Tersor almost shuddered at the mention of the Ohalavaru, it was the first time this encounter that the calmness of Tersor seemed to crack, he didn’t leave this to a mystery however.

Tersor: We have been having issues with them, in recent months, may I even say in the past year, they have gotten bolder.

Etan: I had thought they were a nuisance. :: he sighed again, and lapsed in thinking aloud. :: Maybe I’ve been away from Bajor for too long.

Tersor: It’s not up to me to say if you have been away too long, I am not the prophets, nor your mother. How long have you been away from Bajor?

Etan: Response.

A lull in the conversation naturally occurred. Tersor had made his way through some nearby undergrowth and bushes. He then seemed to reach into the foliage and held something with both hands.

Tersor: I thought it best to hide this, in case others were looking, your chariot awaits.

Hidden in some undergrowth was a land vehicle with four wheels, a quad-bike.

Etan: Response.

Tersor: You didn’t think I walked all the way here now? That would be stupid. Don’t worry, it’s perfectly safe…if you doubt me, you can always walk. ::smirk::

Etan: Response

Jay started the power systems of the quad, and anyone with a sense of logic would have seen that this quad-bike was perfectly suited to the rocky and bumpy terrain of the canyon. The power system had emitted a gentle hum.

Tersor: Now question for you, Commander Etan, do we go to the monastery? that’s the safe route, or should we look for your friend?

Etan: Response
