He elected to leave the older ribbons in his room, he took the pip that he had yet to attach. He ruined the moment a few hours prior but maybe he could make a new moment.
Nilsen: Tox ::He called out:: You around?
He now has two tasks today.
Arlill: Response
Lhandon had heard a positive response coming from the shared common area between the two rooms that made up their quarters.
One needed only a glance to see who ruled what area. The kitchenette was immaculate, clean, without a speck of dust. The area around Toxin, to put it kindly, was not.
Lhandon had come out of his room and tried to hide the box that his medals were in. Most likely, like all his attempts at subtlety, this one had failed.
Nilsen: So, first, morning.
Lhandon's eyes were perhaps a little red; a lack of sleep and emotion didn't do much for one's outward appearance. Despite this, he was fully dressed in his uniform, and he had made his hair as managed and tidy as his curls would allow.
Nilsen: Second, erm soo....this is going to sound weird, V'Airu and Ro visited me while I was working out in the gym ::beat:: and they gave me these.
Lhandon show the box with his two new medals.
Arlill: Response.
Nilsen: There was something else bro, erm...I did that thing again, ::taps head:: you know that thing: And I ruined that moment. But...they also gave me this. I don't know how I earned these…I just...Would you? Do it for me?
A few hours earlier, Lhandon had been given a single, hollow pip. He now held it out for Toxin to see. The small object seemed innocuous in his hand. Yet, it was not, it was a sign of trust, a recognition of his work and a display of faith that both Commodore V’Airu and Commander Rouiancet had in him. Just for a brief moment, as he asked Toxin for this one favour, a positive thought crossed his mind.
V;Airu and Rouiancet were right.
