((Main Shuttle Bay - USS 'Oumuamua))

Kammus stood near the entrance to the shuttle bay awaiting the YORK to be moved for loading.  Leading another away mission.  This was becoming more normal to him, and while he thought his first love was true engineering and shipbuilding, he was increasingly fond of being in the field.  Working on diplomatic or exploratory missions required just as much problem solving as fixing a broken replicator.  The range of skills needed for such a mission were not lost on Kammus as he gently paced.

Soon, the large cargo shuttle he had come to know well, landed.  Its wing tips tucked neatly into the hull.  While not a true runabout, Kammus preferred the Argo-class shuttles for their cargo carrying abilities, and smaller footprint for planetary landings.

It was time, the other members needed to be briefed, and the logistics sorted.  He tapped his comm badge.

Corelli: =/\= Corelli to Lieutenants Kessler, and Ulasso.  Please report to Main shuttlebay for expedition briefing.  Dress for warm weather. Corelli out. =/\=

The large ramp of the York opened slowly, and the All-Terrain buggy was loaded in by the shuttle bay crew. After a nod from the crew, Kammus began loading his personal items, and engineering toolkits into the small storage lockers stationed around the perimiter of the cargo bay.  The buggy was strapped down, ready to go.  Kammus stared at it for a moment, mentally checking everything.  Supplies and several other small containers set reay at the base of the ramp.

Kessler/Ulasso: Response

Turning to look at his mission companions, he smiled gently.

Corelli: Excellent.  Welcome.  Quick briefing; we are headed to an unexplored planet with possible pre-warp civilization.  Expect low-technological advancement.  Our mission is two fold: assess the nature of the inhabitants, locate the source of the Eessee signal device.  I've taken the liberty of loading the ATB for our use.  Its best to present minimal impact on the population.  I advise one of us meet the locals, while the other two head out to find the source of the signal.

Kessler/Ulasso: Response

Kammus thought for a moment.  They were all good questions.

Corelli: Details I don't have at this moment, Ulasso, if you do not object, we need to do a quick planetary survey, low orbit, and determine the best landing site, and keep the shuttle away from prying eyes.   Jack, how are your anthropology skills?

Kessler/Ulasso: Response

Corelli: No, we will be on our own.  The 'Oumuamua will jump to the planet, drop us off, and then sprint back to escort the Dome Ship the rest of the way.  Load up any supplies you feel necessary for multi-day mission survival.  It'll be hot.

Kessler/Ulasso: Response

Kammus nodded.

Corelli: As soon as we jump to warp, we should be loaded and ready for launch.

Kammus walked down the ramp of the York, and continued loading the small personal bags he had staged next to the shuttle.
