OOC: Tagging Dahlquist as we discussed it, but anyone else is also
welcome to join still!
IC:
((Personal Quarters, deck 7))
With all the departures, it was easy to forget that there were also
arrivals. That wasn’t abnormal. The life of an officer was often full
of ebb and flow, of coming and going. Peri had already come and gone a
multitude of times thanks to her father’s position as a Starfleet
officer. Thus far, her own transfers totaled one, but she was early in
her career yet. Having only celebrated her second anniversary of her
graduation, it was early enough for her to realise that she may very
well experience a lot more in the future.
Katsim: Please. It’s good to see you. How have you been?
Toz: Somewhat exhausted. The journey back to the ship wasn’t exactly
calm. There were two families with small children on the shuttle. I
should have spent more time in my cabin. What about you? ::pause:: And
how’s little Echo doing?
Peri hadn’t been around many children after becoming an adult. As an
only child, she’d never had the experience of siblings, though Ayna had
been like a sister to her. She had been around the siblings of friends,
occasionally played with them when she hung out, but that had been years
ago. Since Toz asked about the dragon, however, Peri focused on that.
The creature in question was wrapped around her neck and had been
sleeping, but at the sound of her name, opened her eye, let it focus on
Toz for a brief moment, then closed it, evidently more concerned with
her nap than the return of a familiar face.
Katsim: Sleepy.
Toz: ::laughing;: I’ve even missed the little dragon.
Katsim: She’s a sweet one.
Toz: Response
Peri’s fingers reached up to scritch the eyeridge of her companion
briefly, before she lifted her glass and sipped it. Others had gone,
and now the prodigal child had returned.
Katsim: It’s good to see you again. Did you just arrive today?
Toz: Response
Peri nodded and set her glass back down. It was really good to see Toz
back. The spunky medical officer had made a good impression upon
everyone during her tenure with them, and Peri knew she wasn’t the only
one who would be happy about her returned.
Katsim: What did you do while you were away?
She had never been sure why Toz had left, but assumed it was a
transfer. Still, she was curious as to what, exactly, had taken her
from the ship.
Toz: Response
The doors parted and more entered, and one among them was familiar to
Peri. She flashed a small smile to the scientist with whom she worked,
and perhaps it was the familiar that Dahlquist sought, for she made her
way to join them.
Dahlquist: Response
Katsim: Oh, yes, of course.
Peri motioned to another empty chair that was beside her, waiting for
someone to utilise it.
Dahlquist/Toz: Response
