((Main Engineering, USS ‘Oumuamua))

Shevon was ready. She hadn't expected a quick self-guided tour of the ship her sister was posted to would end up in an adventure...of sorts...but she was ready. Whatever was happening was already looking more fun than the calls she'd get to repair replicators on 118.

S. Sherlock: I'd say "race you there," but I don't know how to get there, so, lead the way!

Herrick: Onward and upward!

The Lieutenant took off and Shevon followed him, repair kit in hand, to the nearest turbolift.

S. Sherlock: Once we get up there, do you think the turbolift will make it all the way? Or are we going to have to use the Jefferies Tubes?

Herrick: ::flashing a grin:: Only one way to find out.

S. Sherlock: ::under her breath:: I kinda hope so...

Herrick: Typically, the EPS power distribution system feeds from both ends of the shaft, with redundant terminals at each deck, both vertically and horizontally. So, unless the EPS distribution system ruptures on both ends and at every deck, we should be good.

Though Shevon did know that, it was always good to be reminded of something like it. One could build context with such information. For instance, if that were indeed the case, then there was likely a more systemic failure rather than something localized.

S. Sherlock: That's true. And like you said, only one way to find out, right?

Shevon quickly tapped the the small touchpad next to the turbolift and when the doors opened, they both practically jumped in. The Lieutenant called out for Deck A and they were off with the hum of the turbolift.

Herrick: Have you worked on the same ship together before? You and the Lieutenant I mean.

S. Sherlock: Kinda, we were both on one-one-eight when she was there. But Engineering and Sec/Tac rarely interacted. We did live together though. But I'm not sure I'd want to serve with her on a ship.

Herrick: response

S. Sherlock: It's just ::pausing to consider how to say it, but saying it anyways:: there's Aine Sherlock and then there's Lieutenant Sherlock. I like terrorizing both, her words, not mine. But I don't think Lieutenant Sherlock would appreciate that. So we might end up killing each other.

Shevon did care for her sister, and Aine did care for Shevon. Shevon also appreciated what Aine did for her with Starfleet. But like many siblings, especially ones who didn't know each other long, they often butted heads.

S. Sherlock: She can be so...

Herrick: response

S. Sherlock: Yes! So I won't be transferring to the 'Oumuamua. But I've seen there's some new ships coming to the flotilla, and I have considered one of those. So, close, but not too close.

Herrick: response

It didn't take long for the turbolift journey to end and the doors hissed open when they reached their destination.
