OOC Because Don is out on a brief LOA, I didn’t leave tags for Kel or Rox. However, I referenced in the narrative what ribbon he received.

(( Georgiou Memorial Ballroom, Starfleet Academy Main Campus, San Francisco, Earth ))

By the time the trio arrived at the medical table, however, Kel had left for a few moments, presumably to visit either the bar or one of the sideboards that held condiments and small plates. Ossa considered waiting, but she was sure he would retain momentarily. Besides, she wanted to speak for a moment with Rox, who remained at the table, along with some other medical personnel and, importantly, Counselor Salo. The trio approached and, as usual, pulled up some chairs.

V’Airu: I was hoping to catch you, Rox. It’s good to see you out, and on your best behavior. I appreciate having you here. (beat) But I’ve also given out a fair number of ribbons this evening for investigating your actions. Let’s make sure that this is the last ceremony where that happens.

Rox was, uncharacteristically, silent after Ossa had spoken, and Ossa finished with a decisive nod.

Iljor had advocated for Rox in the aftermath of the time aboard the Intrepid- and he stuck by what he had said. He sincerely hoped that the medical technician was given a safe avenue to explore all she was capable was in a way that did not imperil the crew that she obviously cared for. He gave her a small and supportive smile, but remained quiet for the moment.

Since Kel was not back yet, Ossa looked to the ‘Oumuamua’s counselor – its one and only, with Brodie on leave. On Earth, actually, and belatedly Ossa realized that she ought to have invited him to dine with them, given that this ceremony was also on Earth. He was a quick transporter cycle away, and she wished she’d had more foresight.

V’Airu: Counselor Salo, you have been our only full-time counselor, and that burden has, I’m sure, been trying at times. Yet you have cared for your colleagues admirably, and while that alone is worthy of recognition, I want to particularly call out the support you offered to Doctor Kel during this mission.

She asked for the box, and received it from Etan before she continued. As she spoke, she pinned two ribbons – one orange with silver-green bars, the other with purple triangles – on Salo’s uniform.

V’Airu: The Trauma Support Advocate and Unity Ribbons each emphasize the very best in their recipients’ support for mental health struggles and trauma. And, as I say, you have done so for the whole crew, but none more so than Kel, whose temporal crisis of host personalities called for extra care. On his behalf, thank you, and congratulations.

Salo: Response

Etan: Congratulations, counsellor. ::he offered. ::

Iljor suspected that he would be calling upon her talents before long. A recent conversation with Lieutenant Arlill had served as a reminder that he had not fully processed the fate of his parents and their actions during the Cardassian occupation. He wanted, no he needed, to heal and move on with his life- and he knew that to do so he needed a comfortable environment. Counsellor Salo represented that.

Greaves: I’ve not always felt this way, but over the last couple of years I’ve come to find that the counselling staff is part of the glue that holds a crew together. That you’ve been doing it mostly alone is a testament to your dedication. Thank you.

Unfortunately, it looked like Kel was not coming back quickly, and a glance around showed him nowhere in the vicinity. No matter. Ossa would keep his Joint Meritorious Unit Ribbon for now, and present it to him at a later date.

V’Airu: Congratulations, again, Salo, and to you all. You, too, Rox.

Salo / Any Others: Responses

Etan: Behave yourselves tonight. :: he said, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. ::

With the final box he carried now empty, Wes looked back over toward the Commodore. The smell of food had been wafting around each table for a time now, and his stomach grumbled.

Greaves: Well ma’am, I think our food might be getting cold. Shall we?

And, at last, the trio made their way over to their own table, where their suppers awaited them.
