WO1 Shevon Sherlock - The Curious Cat

After spending a couple days at her new purchase on Bajor, Shevon had made her way back to Deep Space 9. Her sister seemed to be busy, most likely spending time with the boy she kept telling her was just a friend, though Shevon suspected otherwise.

Having finished at the top of her class at Warrant Officer School, Shevon was given her choice of postings. She'd considered staying on 118, she'd also considered Deep Space 9. But she wasn't sure about being tied to a station. She'd been born on the Delight and lived most of her life on a ship, she really didn't know much else.

And what luck it was that there was a Starfleet vessel docked at Deep Space 9. She'd quickly found her way to Main Engineering. The difference between a proper Starfleet vessel and a Merchant Marine freighter was apparent. The lighting was good. The colors were brighter, though still very grey. And it was clean. Like spotless clean. There was no need for an Engineer to wear coveralls. And that warp core! Mostly exposed and seemingly floating rather than stuffed into a bulkhead that was only accessible through small hatches. She stood there for a moment, staring at it, basking in the blue glow, almost lost in amazement.

Herrick: response

Shevon suddenly snapped out of her daydreaming and turned around quickly in surprise.

S. Sherlock: Oh, hi, sorry. I was just looking at your warp core.

Herrick: response

S. Sherlock: I'm ::pointing to the single hollow pip on her collar:: Warrant Officer Shevon Sherlock. ::suddenly feeling giddy:: I'm a Warrant Officer.

Herrick: response

S. Sherlock: Uh ::beat:: no, I'm not assigned here. But maybe? I could ::beat:: possibly?

She still didn't know what choice she was going to make. She was sure Aine would be happy to have her on the 'Oumuamua...so she could watch over her like she liked to do. Thankfully her little sister wasn't an Engineer.
