Josh had been having difficulty getting a good nights’ rest since the accident. Images of flames continued to haunt him; not enough for full-blown panic attacks, but he was starting to notice some of the effects his subconscious had been having on him.

On an impromptu visit to Sickbay, he elected to withhold this information from the nurse on duty. Instead mentioning that he was just having a case of insomnia and was hoping to get a good rest in advance of his upcoming duty shift. Thankfully, the questions were minor, and he received a hypo with a very limited dose to take the edge off.

As he was walking to the turbolift, he had heard some muffled noise coming from quarters. He could make out the familiar tones of the wake-up alarm, but it hadn’t been shut off.

Herrick: oO Perhaps a heavy sleeper? Oo

Josh pushed the chime button, but there was no response. He pushed it again, yet still there was no response. Something didn’t feel right.

The engineer looked at the door label, Ensign Charles Tyber and Ensign Lina Dahlquist.

Herrick hadn’t yet met Lina, but he had exchanged some brief pleasantries with the security officer at the awards ceremony.

Herrick: ::knocking loudly against the doors:: Tyber? Dahlquist? Is everything alright in there?

Tapping the door panel, it registered that the privacy lock was not engaged. He knocked again, not wanting to invade the privacy of those inside. Again, no answer and the alarm continued to go off. He made the decision to open the doors and check in on his fellow crewmates.

Tyber/Dahlquist/Any: Response

As the doors slid open, he was greeted by the sight of the shared quarters. It was always interesting to see personal items of the other officers, it gave a unique insight to who they were. At this moment, though, the Klingon had caught his attention. He wasn’t sure what normal Klingon sleep looked like, but the other officer seemed uncomfortable.

Herrick: (concerned) Tyber?... Ensign?... Charles?...

Tyber/Dahlquist/Any: Response

Josh moved closer and placed his hand on the man’s shoulder, trying to nudge him awake.

Herrick: (a bit more loudly) Ensign Tyber? Are you ok?

Tyber/Dahlquist/Any: Response
