WO1 Shevon Sherlock - The Race Is On

Shevon felt like she was talking a lot, or at least that's what her sister would have said to her in a moment like that. But she didn't care. She was having fun. And she was meeting people. And seeing a new ship.

Herrick: So, you weren’t aware of her either?

S. Sherlock: No, I wasn't. She later told me that she asked our dad about me. He didn't even know I was born, but he did admit that he hadn't told her that he was in the Merchant Marines before he and her mother got together.

Herrick: I’ll be honest, I can’t imagine how much of a shock that would have been for you, and for her. (beat) Does she know you’re onboard?

S. Sherlock: Oh yes, I saw her this morning. This was a planned visit.

The panel near them suddenly sent up an alarm and almost instinctively, both of them looked to see what was being reported.

Herrick: That’s strange…

S. Sherlock: Is that the pod? You don't normally power it down like that, right?

Herrick: Yeah, I don’t see what would be causing a total power failure up there. Perhaps we can take this as our first trial run?

Shevon grinned broadly. Perhaps it was one thing her and her sister had in common, they did enjoy work. The difference was Shevon showed it.

S. Sherlock: Heck yes! ::beat:: Sir.

The Lieutenant had fetched a couple of repair kits and torches from a nearby compartment, handing her one of each.

Herrick: ::flashing it on and off, and then flashing a smile:: Hope you’re not afraid of the dark.

Shevon laughed, almost maniacally.

S. Sherlock: No, definitely not.

Herrick: response

S. Sherlock: I'd say "race you there," but I don't know how to get there, so, lead the way!

Herrick: response

S. Sherlock: Once we get up there, do you think the turbolift will make it all the way? Or are we going to have to use the Jefferies Tubes?

Herrick: response
