((Small Temple Off The Beaten Path, Bajor))
Aine had often had trust issues, even with fellow officers. But it was something she was working on. Opening up. Letting people know the real her. And now, she was sharing a deeply personal experience from one of her prior visits to Bajor. She only hoped they didn't think she was crazy...
Sherlock: I had an encounter. ::beat:: With a ghost.
Herrick: C’mon! A proper ghost?
As the Engineer waved his arms about, Aine's lower lip tucked between her teeth and she bit down. Her arms crossed and eyebrows raised as a warning.
Promontory: (hopefully) Is that something we can look forward to as well?
Sherlock: ::to Herrick, sternly:: I saw what I saw. ::turning to Promontory:: Possibly, you never know. I saw one, anyone could.
Herrick: (teasingly) Maybe you made the first ‘first contact’ with the Alpha Brenkelvians.
Promontory: Well, I think the universe is big enough for plenty of different kinds of ghosts.
Aine looked up and rolled her eyes. She was beginning to regret this opening up thing. In fact, she was downright hating it.
Sherlock: I said it was a ghost. Not a ::doing finger quotes:: Prophet.
Aine suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder as if someone had snuck up on her...OR A GHOST APPEARED! She uncrossed her arms as she rapidly spun around to face whoever it was, seeing another man dressed as a Vedek. But this one, with his faded but well kept robes and some age on his face, seemed like the real deal.
Promontory: What now?
Sherlock: Jaysus! Well, not...it's ::gesturing to the man who had scared her:: another Vedek.
Vedek: I’m sorry child, I didn’t scare you.
Aine nodded sharply and the man reached up to her ear. She'd heard about this. At first his fingers cupped her ear and then his thumb gave it a pinch. Her eyes flinch slightly but she quickly pulled away, not sure if she wanted to know more.
Vedek: You're pagh is strong ::taking a beat while flexing his fingers:: What brings you here children?
Sherlock: ::gesturing to her fellow officers:: My friends wanted to see a temple.
Promontory: Is this how we get to see the ghosts!?
Aine nudged the Intel Officer in the ribs with her elbow thinking that that wasn't exactly intelligent.
Sherlock: You'll have to excuse him, Vedek. He'd heard a story and is now curious.
Herrick: Response
Vedek: I cannot promise you will see anything, that would be the will of the Prophets. But I can help guide you. Unless you have ::beat:: reservations?
Promontory: No, by all means, let’s assess all our paghs!
The Vedek was clearly referring to Aine's prior pull away from him. But she, like Promontory, was interested in exploring further.
Herrick: Response
Sherlock: I too, would like to try.
Vedek: Please, children, follow me. ::gesturing towards the large door of the temple:: It is not often I have the opportunity to share this experience with humans.
Promontory: I’m actually only part human.
The Vedek reacted as if that wasn't news to him, that is to say, he had no reaction. He simply opened the door and led them into the temple. Aine hadn't bothered to be nosy and learn everyone's records or backgrounds, and she was a little shocked by the confession and she wondered what species Promontory was mixed with.
The central room was large. Walls of old stone. The walls were lined with stone benches and the light was relatively dim as it only came from the lit candles around the room. The Vedek first gestured to the Engineer and Aine gave him a slight push with her arm.
Sherlock: Looks like you're the first victim.
Herrick:
Vedek: Clear your mind.
The Vedek reached out towards Herrick's ear. Aine felt a little awkward watching. There were moments of what appeared to be emotional reactions manifesting physically, but there was no way for her to know what was being seen or felt.
((OOC: Write your journey here! Feel free to add in Vedek dialogue if needed.))
Herrick: response
Promontory: response
Sherlock: I think we should save the best for last, so you go next.
Aine shot Promontory a slight grin after delivering the jab.
Promontory: response
