((Bridge – USS Rahuba))

The Cheyenne Class defensive cruiser was a small vessel, about half the size of the Narendra.  With four nacelles it was also a fast vessel.  It didn’t have the specifically integrated impulse drive that the Ambassador classes boasted, but it’s smaller size and plenty of punch to the engines made it nimble enough.

It was built with teeth and plenty of shields, to defend smaller ships and outrun opponents if it bit off more that it could chew.  There was little in the way of deep space amenities on the Rahuba – those were back on StarBase 118, and there was very little extra.  It was an efficient ship built to succeed.

Ishreth’s antennae perked up as he neared the bridge, listening to Commander Maxwell’s accent punch through the commline to Commodore Taybrim.

Maxwell: =/\= Max tae Sal. Renzon! ::He carried on, not waiting for a reply.:: FIS Zarmeaon and the USS Apgar were on the list ae ships that received those shonky parts. Could be nothing, but its still a link tae the Orions.... =/\=

Taybrim: ::There was an audible sigh:: =/\= Understood.  Let’s not jump to conclusions, but keep you eye out for connections. =/\=

Renzon tr'Koreth – Ishreth recognized the name.  The man was an Orion Syndicate connected merchant, and quite possibly a Ferengi in a Romulan’s body.  He built a mercantile empire out of shady deals and delighted in hedonism.  He had the habit of selling good parts to people he liked and bad parts to people he didn’t.

The crew of StarBase 118 had apprehended him once upon a time, during a race on the Pulse Light Racing circuit.  That was back when sal was a Captain and Theo Whittaker was first officer of Ops.  Somehow it felt like forever and a day ago and yet just yesterday.  Back when he was still feeling over his head as a SARS team lead.

And now he was in command of a ship.  He still felt like he was over his head.  And yet he would do the best job he possibly could.  Ishreth never let that nagging sense of being out of his league hold him down for long.  It was more of a tiny creeping worry that made him wonder.

Nope, the time for wondering was over as the bridge doors slid open.

Maxwell: Captain on the bridge!

He strode onto the bridge, his facial expression was as still and neutral as ever, but his antennae curled forward in greeting.  That was not unusual.  Those who knew Dal knew that he had spent enough time around other species that sometimes – if he really liked you – he would emote with more than his antennae.  Beyond that, the only other times were when things got so bad that all of that high class upbringing and strict formal training went out the window.

When the prim, formal and proper Ishreh Dal started swearing you knew the targdung had hit the fan.

Dal: At ease everyone.  ::Those antennae tipped again in recognition.:: Commander Maxwell, what is our ready status, including team check in?

His tone was light and soft.  Slightly lisping – that tradition, perhaps stereotypical Andorian speech.  Though the stereotype had long since faded since most Andorian Starfleet officers in the past hundred years were from the low clans, most of which did not have that affectation.  The high clans tended towards roles as Ambassadors and Councilors, which prompted the stereotype in the early days.

Maxwell: ?

Dal: And Ensign Talas, what is our launch status?

Talas: ?

Dal: Excellent.  ::he punched up the commline.:: =/\=Commander Dal to Commander McLaren.  Have you selected the independent vessel you will be using to approach Miranda VII?=/\=

McLaren: =/\= ?

Dal: =/\= Certainly.  The Rahuba is ready to receive you in the main shuttlebay. =/\=

McLaren: =/\= ?

Dal: =/\= As soon as you and your team is safely onboard we will be ready for launch. =/\=

McLaren: =/\= ?

(OOC – please feel free to add here if you like)

As the commline closed he turned towards Max and Talas.

Dal: Commander Maxwell, bring us to blue alert.  Ensign Talas, please prepare for launch.

Talas/Maxwell: ?

And then, as the blue lights washed over the bridge, he turned towards Max, a bit of curiosity playing in his gaze.

Dal: What did you find on Renzon tr'Koreth?

And there was just a tiny twinkle in those blue eyes, a bit of twitch in the antennae.  Oh yes, his hearing was excellent.

Maxwell/Talas: ?
