NPC Captain Monroe - Let Us Begin

((Bridge, USS Glenn))

Captain Monroe sat in the overly comfy chair in the center of the bridge. She'd been monitoring incoming transports and shuttle to the Glenn. The last one to arrive was of course Mel's. She figured it would be. A few other crew members, or maybe they were visiting officers to 118, had already arrived and were milling about the bridge waiting to get started.

Monroe: ::under her breath:: He's always late, damn him.

Crewman th'Zaahlis: ::turning the chair of the Ops station to face the Captain:: Cap?

Monroe: Nothing Zaal. Just Mel, last to arrive.

And then as if on queue, the turbolift door opened and in he walked with three others she'd never seen before. Two dressed informally, much like the rest of their visitors. The last one was in uniform. She thought to herself, "There's always one..."

She stood, walked to the front of the bridge between the two forward stations and then turned to face their guests.

Monroe: Welcome one and all, I am Captain Monroe and I want to welcome you aboard the USS Glenn.

She queued up a display on the viewscreen that showed orthographic images of the Glenn. Gesturing towards them, as if she were selling them the ship, saying, "This baby can hold so many holodecks."

Monroe: As many of you likely figured out ::giving them all a sly grin:: the Glenn is a Galaxy Class starship, but, what many of you don't know, is just how different she is.

The display changed to a cross sectional view of the saucer.

Monroe: As you can see here ::gesturing towards the viewscreen again:: decks nine and ten are mostly open. Within are a mall and shops, various diplomatic suites, and even holodecks that can be temporarily lived in for visiting dignitaries of various environmental needs.
