Cade had a lot of skills he had picked up from a misbegotten youth. Many gained to impress people. It took years before he matured enough to learn how to form honest, valuable friendships that would last through trials.
DeVeau: =/\= Well then, about tomorrow night. It’s the least you could do after exposing me to test after test after test.=/\=
Oh? A dinner date? How intriguing.
In a completely ‘lets dance and have conversation and make Cade feel like he was thirty five again, before he went home and checked on his actually thirty something kid. That would be nice.
C.Foster: =/\= What are you thinking? =/\=
DeVeau: =/\= I’m thinking 1800 hours. Infinite Starlight specialises in ballroom dancing, but they also have some really good food. We could kill two birds with one stone - eat lots of calories, then work it off on the dance floor. =/\=
C.Foster: =/\= I love it! =/\=
And he did. He really did. It sounded fun and intriguing and all the things he didn’t usually get to do. And he could embarrass his kid. Bonus points!
DeVeau: =/\= Good. And what time tomorrow morning then?=/\= ::she paused.:: =/\= I guess I shouldn’t have assumed tomorrow was when you wanted to do things, but if that works for you, it works for me. =/\=
C.Foster: =/\= Make it day after tomorrow. I need to get some things straight first. Then I’ll meet you at 0800 for scans and such and we’ll breakfast afterwards. =/\=
DeVeau: =/\= Excellent. I’ll see you then. And Cade…=/\=
C.Foster: =/\= … yeah? =/\=
He queried with a touch of curiosity.
DeVeau: =/\= Thank you.=/\=
C.Foster: =/\= Don’t mention it. If I can solve one more medical mystery and help a friend of Wyn’s it’s worth it. =/\=
And he meant it. All of the above were important to him.
