((Stellar Cartography, Deck 3, USS Aurora-A))

Lorana: Lyra don't leave us waiting, power her up!

The room was much smaller than Stellar Cartography on StarBase 118, but retained the typical style and shape of most starship variants if it. There was a gangway that led to a platform, that contained a singular console. All around them was the display of the stellar cartography, which offered up a 360 degree view.

Ysatch: We were just in the Drakos Cluster, why don't we load that up, see how it looks on the fancy Starfleet displays.

Lyra quickly surveyed the console but naturally she managed to figure out the workings easy enough. Luxa could only watch as the display activated, the display soared through space until it rested on this Drakos Cluster.

Bright orange and red clouds of dust floated above and around them, Luxa felt like they could simply float amongst the asteroid bodies.

Voss: ::with a hushed breath:: Oh it’s beautiful!

Lorana: It truly is.

Luxa meant it. She turned to Lyra with a smile on her face. Even Tori’s presence couldn’t upset her right now.

Lorana: You should test the spectrum settings!

Ysatch: ?

Lyra started flipping through different wavelengths of light and different areas of the Drakos system started coming in and out of focus.

Voss: Look at the resolution! This is just… ::zooming in on a random asteroid:: I mean… I could count the craters!

Lorana:It could probably do that for you :: Luxa looked to the console display :: Yes, I think you can toggle the data strings on and off.

Ysatch: ?

Voss: I have an idea! Let’s really see what these sensors can do. I want to send a message… ::randomly entering a set of coordinates in the Gamma Quadrant and finding a small. lonely planet, far away from any known habitable area:: *there.* I don’t care how long it takes to get there - I just need to plot the path for the signal, taking into account stellar and planetary bodies, black holes, gravity waves - anything that might interrupt it during the 70,000 lightyear trip. Can we plot a safe course?

Luxa smiled, it would seem that Lyra had also had Professor Jimeñez.

Lorana: You’ll need to configure it to avoid all the communication relays to the Gamma Quadrant :: smiles :: Can’t make it too easy, Lyra!

Ysatch/Voss: ?

Luxa watched as Lyra inputted the settings and let it go. Immediately the display altered itself and began to shoot at an alarming speed. Luxa could see beautifully colourful nebulas, asteroid fields that spanned entire sectors, planets of ice and fire, starfields that shine in all the colours of the rainbow.

Ysatch/Voss: ?

Lorana: Not a bad job.

Ysatch/Voss: ?
