(( Qo’nos -Vergh Kruv: Outside the Capital Center))

The Strike Team and their Klingon guide were in the upper tunnels now, and pinned down by the motion-activated phaser rifle at the cross section of two tunnels.  They were so close to their goal… but they couldn’t move forward with only two team members.

Borq: I volunteer to make myself known to the cannon. I am not afraid. ::balls her fist::

Vraj::She turned towards where she heard Borq’s call and grinned, huffing with humor at that:: Of course you aren’t.

Parvana: No Borq, stand down.

Yael:  No need for self sacrifice.  ::trying not to yell over the gap::  Figure out how to disarm it.

Drevas: How about that?

Drevas pointed to a small knobby looking thing upon a wall on the other side.

Drevas: Anyone wanna make a guess as to what that is?

Borq: Hopefully an on/off switch, but that would be too easy.

Parvana: Perhaps, but it could simply be a dud.  Perhaps a leftover from an older system, since Vraj indicated this was very new.

Andrews:  ?

Yael:  ::coaxing them to settle on a course of action::  We don’t have a lot of time here.

Drevas: Or it could be the sensor that sends data to the weapon. Maybe it’d be good for us to take it out?

Vraj: ::She glanced to the group:: Think very carefully on this - it may draw attention.

Parvana: Indeed.  Unfortunately, as was said earlier, we have already done that perhaps.  Still, best not to draw more than necessary.

Andrews:  ?

Borg proved herself a Klingon of action by taking position where she could fire.

Drevas: We’ll know if I’m wrong when it happens. I suppose.

Parvana: I suppose so.

Borq shot out the knob sensor in the walls crevice, which shattered and clattered to the ground in pieces after a small fiery explosion of technical bits.

Vraj: Well, that was something.

Parvana: Excellent shot.

Yael:  Very good.  But did it disarm the weapon?

Andrews/Drevas: ?

Borq: Yeah, I know. ::smirks:: Only one way to find out if it worked.

Parvana: Yes.  We’ll have to see if it responds to movement again.

Parvana tossed a crumbling bit of stone into the open cross-section, and there was no weapon response.  Not even a shake or the sound of a servo winding.

Parvana: Well then, that answers that question.  It looks to be safe.

Parvana sent a paw out into the air, waved it, and jerked it back.  Still nothing.

Parvana: Yes.  It is safe.  Well done, Borq.

Andrews/Drevas: ?

Borq: Spare me the lecture and do so at a later time. Shall we proceed?

Yael:  ::eyeing the team members, glad everyone was okay::  Now we can get moving again.

He didn’t want to have to keep shoving people or diving for cover.

Vraj: Yes. we are going now ::She stood up and glanced to them:: Ensure you have your own sensors at work, we may run into trouble now.

Parvana: I will endeavour to keep my ears open as well.

Andrews/Borq/Drevas: ?

Vraj: I promised you I would be covert. However, I am not here to leash you. You control your own. ::She kept moving, quickening the pace:: Come on, the entrance to the capital building is only a few more moments away.

Yael:  ::to the team::  Let’s be quick.  Keep your eyes open for any more traps.

Andrews/Drevas/Borq: ?

They walked a ways further, and there were no more gun traps, at least not on the path they chose.  They came to a set of bars that stopped them, clearly another defensive barrier to protect the under area of the High Command, but the metal looked quite aged.  Vraj revealed a small laser cutter and began to cut the bars away strategically.

Vraj: This leads to just under one of the storage rooms of the capital building - we will enter from below, and then need to make our way up to our target.

Parvana: That sounds like a perfect place to enter unseen, though perhaps we should still be overly cautious.

Yael:  ::to the team::  Let’s keep it covert.  We want in and out with as little trouble as possible.

Andrews/Drevas/Borq: ?

Vraj:: So I suppose before we get into the fray, this is a good point for me to ask - what exactly do you know about your enemy?

Parvana: The Cult?  They are small but formidable, and are not above using chemical warfare to achieve their goals.

Andrews/Borq/Drevas/Vraj: ?

Parvana: I would be quite interested in any further information you have, Vraj.  I’m sure you’re in a much better position to have intelligence than any of us.

Andrews/Borq/Drevas/Vraj:  ?

The team moved into the storage room Vraj had predicted they would enter through.  The supplies were stacked taller than any of the team members, dwarfing them somewhat, but the room seemed quiet and somewhat dark.

Parvana: Ah, Vraj, you are a marvel indeed.  Where do we go from here?

Vraj:  ?

Parvana: Then, if I may suggest, we…

She stopped talking, and her ears pointed up straight almost comically, her tail swishing and pausing behind her… then an echo and a bang, and the hiss of an opening door in the room away from them.  Ashley pushed his back against one of the containers, motioning for the team to do the same… to tuck down and away, be still and be silent, as a few laughing Klingons entered the storage room.  They were clearly employees at work and didn’t know they were there… yet.

Andrews/Borq/Drevas/Vraj:

Ashley thought fast as they all tucked down.  They didn’t have time for these delays, and these Klingons looked like they were settling in.  Possibly on a break?  The smell of food... well, what Klingons called food, anyway... filled the storage space.  This was bad… they needed to move, and they couldn’t lose the element of surprise.

Thinking over their options, he came upon the only option after quickly dismissing the rest.

They had to take them down.

Yael:  ::as quietly as possible::  Drevas, Andrews, Borq.  I want you to stealth up the back aisle there.  Come up behind those Klingons... *disable* them... try not to kill them.

He pointed toward the furthest walkway between the goods in the room.  It was the most dense collection, the most covered, closest to the side and back wall.  They could get close without being seen, and without being heard if they were careful.

Drevas/Andrews/Borq:  ?

Yael:  ::still whispering::  Parvana.  You’re more agile than us.  Go *atop* the canisters in the center of the room, silently as possible, and stun any Klingons who touch their communicators before the team can take them down.

Parvana:  ?

He didn’t know what Vraj was planning to contribute, but he left her role up to her.

Yael:  ::whispering yet again::    I’ll be the distraction.

Drevas/Andrews/Borq/Parvana:  ?

Vraj:  ?

Yael:  I’ll go up this closer aisle and draw their attention.  ::pausing::  There's three of you, and three Klingons.  Pick your target and strike fast.  We can’t let them call for backup or report our presence.

He stood and silently walked down the aisle without waiting for complaint or negotiation, hugging the wall that offered him the most cover as he moved.  He gave the others upwards of a minute to get into position… in that time his stomach cramped up with nerves… what if these Klingons just fired at him right off?  He didn’t have a weapon, and it looked like there were three of them, and they were all armed with pistols and bat'leths.

When he was sure the others would be ready, and saw the three Klingons in the room were still relaxed and not expecting any company anytime soon, he steeled himself…

… and stepped out into the light with a classic Denobulan smile on his face.

Yael:  ::chuckling lightly as black Klingon eyes fell on him in disbelief::  Hey guys, sorry to interrupt.  Can you tell me where the restroom is?  I seem to have gotten lost.

Tall Klingon:  ::flummoxed::  What?!

Fat Klingon:  Who is that pa’tak?!

The most decorated and put together Klingon of the three rose and aggressively advanced on Ashley.  He instantly regretted his plan and took a step back in fear as the bat'leth was brandished and the Klingon came near enough to use it.

Lead Klingon:  WHO are you and HOW did you get in here?!

Yael:  ::trying to keep up the ruse long enough::  I tell you, this place is like a maze…

Tall Klingon:  A trespasser, here?  ::smiling as he realized::  We could have *fun* with this one, and no one would ever know.

Ashley’s blood ran cold as every possible torture ran through his mind… if the others failed, that would be their future.

Yael:  Guys, relax!  I'm just your friendly neighborhood Denobulan.

He put up his hands to show he had no weapons, hoping it would make him less tempting as a target... but the lead Klingon shot a huge hand out and grasped his shirt, crumpling the material in his grip as he yanked the small Denobulan hybrid close to his body, putting his bat'leth close to the now-roundly-terrified man’s neck with a growl.

Lead Klingon:  ::growling::   You think you’re *clever* getting in here, do you?

Drevas/Andrews/Borq/Parvana/Vraj:  ?
