((Corridors - Deck 3))
The appointment with the Tellarite had ended quickly. He had abruptly left the meeting with the Vulcan scientists after they had said hellos accusing them of being unreasonable. Luxa was still feeling the effects of the Daquira she had been drinking the night before and felt a sense of relief.
She now found herself wandering the new ship after coming here afterwards. She would be the Federation Diplomatic Corps’ official Envoy to the Aurora-A. Ever since she had arrived on the station her duties had only grown, with much frustration, but this one she was more than glad to do. Luxa had been part of several launches in her career: she joined the Artemis-A on her maiden voyage and the Ronin just before her maiden voyage. Both ships had been refitted and relaunched. This was the first brand new ship she had been assigned too, even if she wasn't a Starfleet officer on this occasion she still took some pride in that.
It had a length of 222 metres, a considerable portion of that was the nacelles and the Star drive section. The smallest ship she'd ever served on. It had the typical Starfleet design, yet the corridors were inevitably shorter. Coming from StarBase 118 and the sheer expansive nature of that station made the Aurora feel cosy. She placed a hand on the bulkhead of the corridor.
She inhaled deeply.
oO new ship smell Oo
Her quiet dalliance was interrupted by the voice of Lyra.
Voss: So. How did you enjoy the party last night?
She brightened immediately as she turned in the direction of the voice.
Ysatch: ?
She knew that voice. It was the not-engineer Bajoran that had decided to ditch her at the party the night before. For a boyfriend, apparently. He was one of those types to leave friends (or those who could be friends) chasing after some love interest. She should have known, he had that look.
Voss: Ha, well… yeah, I –
Lyra stopped talking when she noticed Luxa, who hit Tori with a pointed look before turning to Lyra with her usual friendly demeanour.
Voss: ::excited:: Luxa! You must be on your way to stellar cartography too?
Lorana: You caught me! :: raised paws mockingly and laughs :: I've been assigned the Aurora-A as part of my diplomatic catchment, they've even built diplomatic offices in one of the lower decks - I'm pretty sure it's going to be some kind of converted utility closet. We're crewmates of a sort :: looks to Tori with thinly veiled contempt :: Good morning, Ensign. I hope you had an adequate evening. I assume you've also been assigned to the Aurora?
As difficult as it was, she could be polite. Just about.
Ysatch: Response
Pleasantries over. She returned her focus to Lyra.
Voss: ::trying to push past whatever that burst of emotion was:: Well great! We can all walk together?
Lorana: Of course, now prepare yourself Lyra. You've been spoiled with that department on the StarBase. This isn't going to be what you are used to, the Ronin also had a one deck Stellar Cartography. It's cosy, they do have their charms, these smaller vessels.
Ysatch: ?
The three all fell into step, with Lyra walking in between Luxa and Tori.
Voss: So I was looking at the name “Aurora.” I knew the Terran word from the aurora borealis, but apparently Aurora was an ancient goddess of the dawn in an early Terran culture. They really let the humans name everything, huh? Does Cait or Bajor have a dawn goddess?
Lorana: Caitians don't have gods or goddesses. A few mythologies, but they are more children's stories. Back at the Academy I did a holo about a sleeping princess called Aurora. It was a lot of fun.
Ysatch/Voss: ?
They came to a door, clearly marked Stellar Cartography. Luxa smiled and gave Lyra an excited wink, she caught eyes with Tori and scowled. She was certain he'd rather be anywhere but there, probably chasing after some boy in engineering.
She hoped that Lyra wasn't falling for his charms. Had she become a new love interest. In fact, Lyra did have a look about her. Luxa looked at the two of them suspiciously.
There was something different about Lyra, she didn't quite know her well enough but her scent was changed somehow.
Lorana: After you, Lyra. It's your space. You're looking especially nice this morning, don't you think, Ensign? New ship flush or something else?
Luxa provided Lyra with a mischievous smile and made some space for the ‘big’ reveal.
Ysatch/Voss: ?
((OOC - I'm leaving the description of Stellar Cartography for Lyra’s writer as it's her department))
Luxa was in love, again. She would fall hard for any Stellar Cartography. She didn't limit herself to one, she could love them all.
She was practically thrumming with excitement, her pads rocked underneath her feet probably giving off the impression that she was vibrating on the spot. Her hair had been tied back in a high ponytail and currently swayed excitedly, along with her tail. It was almost hypnotic.
Lorana: Lyra don't leave us waiting, power her up!
She figured that even Tori must appreciate this moment. Luxa almost grabbed him excitedly before stopping herself.
