((USS Narendra – Main Bridge))

Ishreth Dal twitched his antennae with pent up energy as he took the center seat.  It wasn’t that he hadn’t been trained to do this… he had.  But this was Sal’s seat.

Then again, they were here to protect.  That’s what he was good at.  And he had a crew that was equally interested in protecting their away teams, in protecting their alliance and in protecting the Narendra.  In that they had a common thread.  They were here to stands strong, and protect.

Alright, that was something he could believe in.

Dal: Ensign Galven – passive scans only, but passively gather what data you can.  The cult ships will likely be in orbit or far closer to the planet than any spectators.  Lieutenant Williams, assist science please.  Ensign Talas, maintain the standard orbit and keep watch for any other vessels in orbit.

Talas: Yes, Commander

Galven: Aye, sir. Running the most basic scans. Lieutenant, are you getting the same information?

Williams gave a quiet assent and kept his attention on the tactical readings.

Talas: Any idea how we can differentiate between the cloaks of normal vessels and that of a cult vessel?

Galven: I have a list of vessels that are still in use by the Klingon Empire as well as shared starships. ::taps at his console, bringing up a scrolling list of data on his monitor:: These are their identification and registration numbers.

He didn’t like sitting and ended up walking over to Galven’s console, antennae tipping over the readouts as he took in the information.

Dal: That’s some valuable intel.  ::he turned towards Talas:: Ensign Talas, you’re our helm specialist – were you able to look over the readings from the IKS Yan as the ship left StarBase 118?

Talas: ?

Galven: If the cultists have anything older and the number isn’t displayed here, we should be able to tell the difference.

Dal: The Yan is a good benchmark.  It is common to the types of ship the Klingon Empire sold earlier in this century.

Talas: ?

Galven: That’s if no registered ships weren’t stolen. Are there any reports of such instances the past few days?

He rocked on his feet, making him look like he was meditating with the universe as he thought about the possibility.

Dal: That is a very interesting question.  We did get some intel reports that I can pass to your console.  I don’t remember any stolen ships.  ::he paused taking a quick scan as he sent the data on to all three on the bridge.:: But the IKS Gl’Pach, a Vor’cha class cruiser was attacked three weeks ago.  ::he paused and gave a meaningful look to Galven and Talas:: By pirates.  Possibly the Syndicate.

Talas/Galven: ?

Dal: I’m reading this as you are getting it.  ::His antennae curled down trying to digest the information as quickly as possible.:: Looks like they weren’t after the cloak… but the quantum torpedoes.

That was a terrifying thought.  An old warbird with a belly full of quantum torpedoes was like an egg full of tiny atomic bombs thrown into a dinner party.  Dangerous and very messy.

Talas/Galven: ?

Suddenly an alarm wailed on the bridge of the Narendra, enough to make them all jump.  Proximity alerts blared, and the shields sizzled while the viewscreen didn’t display anything and the sensors showed only a distortion.

Maybe it was just some debris in the orbital path, but it felt more focused, aggressive and personal.

Dal: What was that?

Talas/Galven: ?

His expression turned stern.  Ishreth Dal didn’t like mind games or things designed to raise fear and paranoia.  Especially when they were as dangerous and effective as this.

Dal: Lieutenant Williams, get down to the tactical sensor integration and recalibrate the deflector dish to pick up anything coming into proximity before it tries to hit us.  ::Williams rose dutifully and headed out doubletime as Ishreth turned towards Talas and Galven:: Ensign Talas, is our orbit still stabilized?  Ensign Galven, were you able to get any clear sensor readings on what almost hit us?

Talas/Galven: ?
