Flynn: She definitely has a knack for getting to the point. Efficiency even in communication. ::He perked up a bit and smiled at Sakon with a touch of mischief in his eyes.:: How about some young Aitas stories?

Sakon: Oh, I’ve many stories to tell but I fear most of them would result in upsetting Aurelio, so they’d best wait for another time. ::He brushed his hand against Aurelio’s head as he spoke.:: And I’d much rather hear pleasant tales about my daughter.

::Antero clearly hadn’t thought that through. Of course he knew the history, the hardships they had endured together. He hoped that they were having some luck making new memories now.::

Flynn: Ah yeah, that’s fair. I sometimes forget about the empathy stuff...::The Risian looked to Aurelio and felt a pang of worry he had experienced before.:: May I ask you for a bit of...well, fatherly advice?

::Sakon was quiet for a moment before nodding in agreement.::

Sakon: I cannot promise I will have much to offer, but I will say what I can.

Flynn: Well it's just that Aurelio is so tied to empathy and mental communication. I just…::He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.:: I don’t really pick up on it as well. I’m afraid sometimes that I’m not attuned enough to his needs. 

Sakon: You’ve not had much time to pick up on his moods, yet. ::He kept his tone calm, without a hint of judgment.:: Such will come with sufficient practice. Even without an empath’s talents.

::He plucked up a small plush from the floor and waved it in front of Aurelio’s eyes.::

Flynn: Well I’m still learning about babies, but I do know that they usually cry when they need something. Aurelio doesn’t really fuss the same way though. ::He swallowed hard, his expression going more somber.:: What happens if he gets hungry and I don’t pick up on it? Or...needs to be changed? Is in a situation that scares him…? Am I going to be oblivious? I just can’t bear the idea of not being able to provide him everything he needs.

Sakon: ::softly:: You’re not the first parent to have such worries. But you’ll learn, and you’re not doing it alone. He’s old enough to have a schedule most of the time now. 

Flynn: A schedule. ::He said it matter of factly as he paused on the thought. He supposed Sakon made a good point, it wasn’t like he needed to figure anything out on his own. He nodded thoughtfully.:: I guess you're right, were still getting to know each other after all.

::Aurelio wriggled a little, turning his head toward his father’s voice. Sakon held him out toward Antero.::

Sakon: It seems he wants you to hold him again. You must have made a good impression.

::Antero popped up from his seat at the mention, smiling not only at the opportunity, but at the enthusiasm his son had toward being in his arms. The Risian had a deep fear of not being able to connect with the young child, so the desire was well received.::

Flynn: Hey little guy. ::He picked him up and gave him a wide smile.:: You want your dad?
