OOC - So sorry for the delay on this sim.

The question was more important than the answer in this case. It was a way to find an entry to get to know the person, Ms. DeVeau, that she would be serving with. As she waited for an answer Ms. DeVeau finished tapping on her PADD and handed it over.
Upon receiving the PADD, Haukea took a second to scroll through the vast array of options. It wasn’t that she was necessarily picky or particular in what she wanted from her accommodations, but more so that she had no background to the general atmosphere and liking of the Base’s rooms. Back home on Risa she had a large open concept space that opened directly onto the beach. She could hear the sea and see the sand from her bedroom. It made an ideal space for painting, and practicing her Tai Chi. And while she knew for a direct fact that she was unlikely to receive a room that was comparable, it didn’t phase her. Frankly she could have a view out into space or out into a more commercial area of the base and still be content. The only requirement she had was an ability to set up her easel with enough space.
DeVeau: You can also always change your mind at a later time if you so desire, so don’t feel too much pressure.
Willow: I’m sure I’ll be happy with whatever I choose. I’m not really that picky.
DeVeau: It’s always good to be content with what you have. So, what are you thinking?
Ms. DeVeau herself glanced at the PADD, while Huakea continued scrolling through the options. With each option the Risian woman imagined wonderful scenarios of painting and people watching, each more fantastic than the last.
Willow: I do see that there is an apartment complex in the Hong Kong Subdistrict. That could provide for some interesting people watching.
DeVeau: Oh, it would, but that’s in the Commercial district. If you want to check it out, I can assign you temporary quarters and then you can contact those who run the housing in the districts.
The Commercial district you say? That meant, at least as far as she could tell, that a majority of civilians lived there while officers lived elsewhere. Though the thought of living in such an exciting and diverse community enthralled her. Maybe she would have to contact the so-called housing market on the Starbase to see about renting a space. On the other hand, she still wanted to hear what Ms. DeVeau had to say on the matter. What was the opinion of someone that actually lived on the Base?
Willow: Do you have any recommendations? Places with a good view?
Ms. DeVeau tapped her fingers upon the table, considering Huakea’s question. It seemed like a tough one indeed.
DeVeau: There are very few windows available - and I’ll admit, I grabbed one that had become available just upon my arrival. I was lucky. If you want a view, I recommend the Commercial district.
Willow: I see. I was considering more views of parks and shopping districts? Something good for people watching.
Haukea was unfamiliar with the proper wording for such places on the Base but she gave her best attempt. Ms. DeVeau moved her head back and forth in a nod, smiling radiantly. There must have been a great deal more options within this particular category, which thrilled her to seemingly no end. What fun she could have watching the people, like ants, pass below as she made up fantastical stories.
Ms. DeVeau, handed the PADD back to her, this time with a map of the Base present.
DeVeau: There are a lot of parks and natural spaces built into Ops, so you can certainly find places with those types of views. Hong Kong is good, Ashalla…any of them really.
Willow: That really does sound wonderful!
DeVeau: I tell you what, why don’t I just give you some temporary quarters. You take some time to tour apartments that are to your liking, and then you can make a decision. How does that sound?
Willow: Like just the ticket!
DeVeau: Response
Willow: With that settled, and I very much appreciate your assistance, I did hear through the grapevine, from Doctor Trovek, about something.
DeVeau: Response
Willow: Well she did mention something about a tour and that if I wanted one you would be the person to see about it.
DeVeau: Response
OOC - I think this might be a good place to start wrapping up the scene. We can arrange a tour and then fade out right before it happens. That work for you?
