((Main Sickbay – StarBase 118))
Wyn was not very tall, and he knew sickbay like the back of his hand, so slinking around and not being easy to notice went hand in hand with the slender blue man’s return to his old haunt. Not that he was particularly trying to sneak up on anyone, but he wanted to ensure the officers who had gone to Capricalia were properly on shore leave and not stuck in sickbay doing work.
Not that it wasn’t exactly what Wyn would have done if he was still Chief Medical Officer… but he admitted that he didn’t always make the best decisions in his past and that now as executive officer it was part of his job to make people relax properly.
Was he good at it? Hard to tell. But he was gonna try!
Foster: Lieutenant Ryden Taurus Kel, aren’t you supposed to be off duty?
He asked rounding the corner and fixing his eyes on the Medical Officer.
Kel: ?
A reasonable explanation and yet Wyn was not to be deterred.
Foster: It’s not just five o’clock somewhere, it’s 1734 right here, right now and you should be out enjoying yourself.
The chronometer didn’t lie. It was five o’clock and some change.
Kel: ?
Foster: A Friday night on StarBase 118? There’s a festival in Little Risa, A relaxation spa retreat in the Laikan district, a production of K’Mothra and the Seven Spirits in the Q’onoS district, fireworks in the Hong Kong district, a parrises square tournament in San Fran, and a darts tournament in Keals… and that’s just what I could pick up with a five minute search. You should pick one!
Kel: ?
Well, he was here and he was asking so therefore he was coming.
Foster: Of course I’ll join. I’d be a hypocrite to order you to relax and then do the opposite
His blue eyes twinkled. Wyn was starting to see how Gogi, Taybrim, even DeVeau, had gotten into this role.
Kel: ?
