::With awards given out there was one last thing for Sal to do – that was recognize position changes as well as promotions.  The culmination of jobs well done, focusing on the trust and respect of the officers in question.  There was no doubt they had all done tremendous work, and this was the time to really place a focus on such work.::

Taybrim: I would like to end the ceremony with a few final recognitions.  First, some position changes.  We just welcomed back Lt. Commander Nijil, and because our friend Commander Fairhug has been temporarily recalled to his homeworld on Bardeez, Nijil rejoins Ops as our new?  ::He smiled a bit:: Old?  Retuning ::he settled for that:: First officer.  I am most glad to have you back, Commander!

Nijil: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: Next, if I could have Counselor Malko please join me?

Malko: ?

Taybrim: Counselor, you have now been with this crew for several missions and in that time you have formed strong relationships with your fellow crew.  You have been a reliable friend, a trusted companion and we all have benefitted from your keen ear and good counsel.  You have proven yourself as a fine and capable officer.  In recognition of this I hereby promote you to the rank of full Lieutenant, with all the rights and responsibilities therein.  ::He smiled proudly.:: Congratulations, Lieutenant!

Malko: ?

::He shook hands warmly and offered the second full pip over.::

Taybrim: You have done extremely well.  Thank you for your ongoing dedication.

Malko: ?

Any: ?

::As the applause died down, he looked among the gathered and picked his next target.::

Taybrim: Will Doctor Stendhal please join me?

Stendhal: ?

::Again he smiled.  He did so much enjoy this.  And even if his crew was embarrassed he knew that it was all for the best, to shower them with recognition of their hard work.::

Taybrim: Ensign, you came onboard with a fine recommendation from your former Captain, Theo Whittaker – and I must concur.  You have done a great job in supporting this crew, creating friendships and trust as a medical professional.  You have progressed well and I expect that you will continue to grow and develop as an officer.  In recognition of your hard work, I hereby promote you to the rank of Lieutenant JG with all the rights and responsibilities there in.  ::Again, he grinned:: Congratulations, Lieutenant!

Stendhal: ?

Taybrim: ::he greeted her warmly, offering over that second half pip with a smile.:: I am so glad you have joined us.  And I know we are stronger with you, Lieutenant.  You have done great work!

Stendhal: ?

Any: ?

::He let the applause linger as he looked across the gathered, picking out yet another target.::

Taybrim: Will Mr. Termine please join me?

Termine: ?

Taybrim: Dante, being a diplomat is a tough role in such tempestuous times, but you have done well.  You came onboard to help us in a tight situation and we saw your diplomatic capabilities shine in this past altercation with the cult.  You have won the respect of your department and have grown as both an officer, and a leader.  For this I recognize your efforts and hereby award you the rank of full Lieutenant, with all the rights and responsibilities therein.  ::An easy, genuine smile:: Congratulations, Lieutenant!

Termine: ?

::Sal again shook hands warmly and offered him the second full pip.::

Taybrim: You have done a great job so far, and I expect great things from you, Lieutenant!  You have my full confidence.

Termine: ?

Any: ?

::Again he let the applause rise up and then die down.  He looked around for his next target.  He even paused for just a moment to let the suspense raise.

This was perfect timing.  Poetic even.  The location, the witnesses.  Everything seemed to fall into place.::

Taybrim: And last, but certainly not least; will Lieutenant McLaren please join me?

McLaren: ?

Taybrim: Sol, we’ve been together on multiple missions now and I have watched you grow as a leader.  Your have gained collaboration skills with your companions, I have watched rough edges get smoothed down and the glimmers of a true leader have shown through.  You handled yourself and your team with focus and dedication that helped save lives even under duress.  Your keen mind and critical thinking have been an ongoing asset to this crew, and your actions have instilled confidence in you across many missions.  I believe you are ready to step forward into a true leadership role and I am proud to offer you the rank of Lt Commander, with all rights and responsibilities therein.  ::He grinned, warmly and truly.  They had served together for a long time and he could not be more proud.:: Congratulations, Commander!

McLaren: ?

Any: ?

::He shook hands warmly and offered her the third open pip.::

Taybrim: You have done us proud.  I very much look forward to having you with us as we work together to protect the Trinity Sector.  Thank you so much for all your dedication, Sol!

McLaren: ?

Any: ?

::And finally as the applause died down, Sal lifted his glass.::

Taybrim: A toast!  To all the crew of StarBase 118’s Senior staff.  Whether you have just joined us or you have been with us for years, you are a brave crew that I am happy to call crewmates, proud to call friends and overjoyed to see you succeed.  The Trinity sector and so many others owe their lives to you and your actions.  I salute you all!

Any: ?

Taybrim: Cheers!

Any: ?

::The toasts were made and the celebration began.  It was time for music and revelry before they headed back home.::
