OOC:

  1. Sorry for the delay. Been falling asleep early the past few nights.

  2. Had some time first thing at work this morning during my planning hour to get this done. Better than grading papers I say.

((Sick-bay, USS Narendra))

Haukea, from personal experience, knew what it was like to run her words together, to talk nonstop about a particular topic. If Madison did the same then she would simply, and lovingly, listen, adding to the conversation when necessary. Besides she meant it when she told Madison ‘anything you want.’ Plus, Madison was her equal, in many ways, but currently in the fact that she listened intently when Haukea spoke, returning the gesture with kindness, if not love.

Following her girlfriend’s instructions, Haukea got comfortable on her stomach, arms folded up by her head.

Marsh: Please remain still and relaxed. Surely, you have felt shame about something at least once Haukea.

Madison used a small hypospray with a small dose of medication during the procedure. Haukea herself had little knowledge as to the exact drug or purpose, yet knew that soon afterwards the injury to her muscles were feeling less sore.

Willow: It’s extremely rare for a Risian to feel what others’ would classify as a negative emotion or even develop a mental health condition.

It was a fact of biology, if not evolution, in the sense that those living on Risia, Risians, did not experience mental health conditions like depression, chronic anxiety, bipolar ect. Even then, they could experience negative emotions like sadness, anger, loneliness etc, however at a reduced intensity, or even with a fondness that put a sad sort of smile on one's face.

For example, it was often the case, when friends, or family members, parted ways, to look back on the relationship with fondness, yet one never missed them, or wished for circumstances to be different in any way.

Marsh: That's not a bad thing if you ask me, being positive is a plus in my book. You know that it could be a melting pot of cultural and biological aspects that lead to the cause. I wonder what the biological portion stems from, I will have to look into that some time.

Willow: Don’t ask me why. Biology is just like that sometimes.

Haukea, currently, though not necessarily motivated to, stayed on topic, smiling at Madison’s gentleness.

Marsh: Indeed.

Willow: I mean we can still feel pain, loss, those sorts of things, but it’s different to how one might typically experience it. It’s hard to explain.

By that point Madison had finished the procedure, turning off her medical devices, setting them back on the side table, back in their proper places. If it was to be assumed by her facial expressions then Haukea would consider the repair a success.

Marsh: Maybe in my next life I'll be Risian or have a Sannin VII situation where I swap bodies with you. I'll likely better understand what you mean then.

Willow: I’d rather you didn’t swap bodies with me. While that would be an excellent way to get to know me better, I would simply not recommend it on the whole.

Haukea had swapped bodies not once, but twice during that mission, and one of those times was into a male body. She certainly did not feel inclined to repeat the situation, even if it was only with her girlfriend.

Marsh: The procedure is over by the way. If you feel any residual pain, please let me know. There is a prescription that I can provide you with in that case. How are you feeling?

Haukea slowly, yet with confidence sat up on the biobed, rolling her shoulders and twisting about. Nothing hurt, pulled, seemed sore. Good as new so it seemed. With Madison’s ocean blue eyes finally meeting Haukea’s grey blue ones, she responded.

Willow: Wonderful. Like a child again.

Marsh: Good as new? Or require a drug?

Noticing the way Madison winked at her in a playful manner, Haukea adjusted her comment to match the playful atmosphere.

Willow: You’re the only drug I need.

Marsh: Response

Willow: In all seriousness, no, I feel as good as new, if not better. Now, shall we go see about that dog?

Marsh: Response

Willow: Any names picked out yet?

Marsh: Response

Willow: Maverick? I don’t know, I’m not the best at naming things. Never had a pet myself.

Marsh: Response
