In mere moments Madison, resting on the tips of her toes, placed a soft, loving kiss upon Haukea’s lips. Leaning back Madison arched an eyebrow, an expression of curiosity plastered on her face. Haukea wanted to laugh at the action, yet knew not to as it would certainly shatter the romantic moment.

Marsh: So, according to this custom, do I pick a ring out for you as well? How does it work?

Willow: From my research it would not be out of the ordinary for both partners to have a promise ring.

Haukea readjusted into a comfortable position once Madison disengaged their embrace, crossing her arms. Madison’s face held an expression of assurance, her words equally matching. Haukea too, certainly understood, if not hoped, that Madison would search out a ring for herself too, completing their commitment to each other.

Marsh: Well, when we get back to base I'll find you one to wear mutually. Also, I've been meaning to tell you that I'm excited to be living together now, it has been a blast. It's nice not to be by myself as I enjoy company. We have a nice little family life going on, you know?

Willow: You, Madison Marsh, certainly make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Shall we go celebrate?

While it could be said that both Madison and Haukea thought along similar lines, the Risian still posed the question of a celebration. Such questions allowed for a verbal confirmation of their thought process, even if the answer was obvious.

Marsh: ::In a joking tone:: Um, Yeah! Yes, I do!

Willow: We can hike back down, find a place to eat if you like.

As the sun shifted in the sky, traveling from mid to late afternoon, the star casting a warm glow off to the west, Madison began packing and organizing their hiking supplies. Haukea herself smiled, allowing her girlfriend a moment to situate herself.

Marsh: Yes, we want to get back to camp by dusk.

Willow: ::Nodding:: When you're ready I’ll take our pack.

Both Haukea and Madison were equal partners within their relationship, which, even though Haukea was marginally stronger, her offer to carry the pack had nothing to do with Madison being incapable. Haukea was merely acting as her kind, loving self. Besides, since Madison carried it on the way towards the top, it was only right Haukea did the same as they descended.

Marsh: Here you go darling, thanks for the muscles!

Willow: ::Haukea flexed her muscles, showing them off:: Anything for you dear.

Haukea shouldered the pack, adjusting both straps securely. Hiking on the descent always allowed for time to pass quickly, gravity working towards their advantage. Regardless, the individual hiking still had to move with caution, lest not to step on a loose rock and tumble down hill. Even so, traveling down, knees bent, the flora, coffee like soil, baby blue sky and valley was breathlessly beautiful.

Marsh: Be careful coming down not to twist an ankle.

Willow: You know me, I never intend to.

Marsh: I know you'd love for me to perform additional medical treatments on you, but this is not the way. Remember when I corrected your broken nose?

In the beginning Haukea often seeked out adventure, injuring herself, accidently in order to pay a visit to her girlfriend Madison Marsh. Recently however, since their relationship grew closer, Marsh got promoted to mission specialist, Amar joined the family etc. Haukea tended to avoid injury at all cost, having a close familiar group to fight for.

Nevertheless, Haukea could vividly recall the first time she ever saw Madison’s face. Shiny blue eyes, blond hair flowing freely behind her. The woman’s eyes shone like diamonds, face rosy. Madison made her heart beat wildly in her chest like the trembling wing of a captive bird. Love at first sight. Haukea would never take it for granted.

Willow: I was reckless then. Wasn’t sure how else to get your attention. Though it was never on purpose.

Marsh: Response

Willow: ::Reaching the bottom of the hiking path:: Honestly I just wanted to see your face. I may have thought the sun rose in your eyes.

Marsh: Response

Willow: Besides, your personality doesn’t hurt either. ::Haukea’s tone was joking::

Marsh: Response
